Wheat is the staple diet of Pakistan from which Pakistanis especially middle and lower class usually get their daily requirement of calorie intake. Any increase in prices badly affect the poor masses.
Since Pakistan's fertility rate is 3.46, let's just assume 1 household to be consist of 6 people. Each member eating 2 Naans per meal(4 naans a day). Increase of 5 rupees per Naan means 20 rupees extra per person per day or 3600 rupees extra per month for the family in which only 1 guy earns usually.
Now this Rs. 3600 might not mean anything to upper class or upper middle class but it means a lot to lower middle and lower class which is half of our population.
So, grievances are justified and shouldn't be made fun of by upper class guys due to some political differences especially if they are sitting abroad.
On the other hand, Increase in prices of sugar by 3 rupees per Kg is not that big of a concern though compared to other food items.
