1) Mixing of politics with religion.

I enjoyed reading your post. Concise, logical and well constructed post. Thank you. And you are absolutely right. Religion and politics do not go well together. Religion is pure milk. Politics is dirty drain water. Mix the two together and religion is sullied and brought down into the dity business of politics.

I might as well let everybody into aspect that they are probably unaware of. I come from a deeply conservative religious family. Not the type that goes around shoving it into other peoples faces. We believe in Islam as force for personal good and that should work on the individual to make him/her a better person. Not as a tool to be used to leverage politics.

And we better move this discussion to another thread. The Russki is going get real annoyed when he finds what we have done to his thread !
