TVC (engine) is not mandatory to ensure sustained turn rates in a combat aircraft. Airframe design (as a whole) can be optimized for the needful when coupled with an engine of sufficient power. F-15 variants, F-16 variants, and the new F-35A are all capable of sustained turn rates without TVC. Therefore, TVC is not necessarily an advantage over other designs.

For some reason both Su-57 and F-22 have TVC. So their designers found TVC desirable. IMO J-20 will also have TVC.

F-7PG with a cranked wing and larger wingspan gives it better low speed handling and increase wing fuel load. Therefore its the most agile version of all Mig-21. The WP-13 engine also better the Tumansky original engine with higher thrust and lifespan. China has fully absorbed and master the whole design of Mig-21 design that we can twit to our requirement and do a good job. This is same as Flanker design.

Same as CV-17 Shandong carrier vs orginal Kuznetsov russian carrier. By your theory, just becos kuznetsov is original , it shall be better? CV-17 Shandong has AESA four panel phased radar, bigger hangar to accommodate more planes versus the Kuznetsov which still retains the missile silo which limited the planes carried. The negotiations about Su-35 started in 2007, and at that moment, PLAAF didn't have J-10C, J-16, and J-20 yet.

Su-30MKK in PLAAF is just a 3rd-generation fighter, while J-16 a 3.5th-generation fighter.
