Ahahaha this reminded me of my student life. Teachers don`t like such students.
no batteries were involved or else it would have made sense back then since hybrid cars were gaining traction. It was some type of carbonate compound that released hydrogen after reacting with water which itself more expensive to run the car than petrol.Ask any scholar of physics

Energy is chemistry. This is something to me uncle.Hi,
It is chemistry son.
Hi,
Check out TOYOTA MIRIA---see what fuel it uses.
Engr Waqar was using a very crude form of producing hydrogen---extremely unsafe---.
But the car did run on hydrogen.

expensive in terms of mileage you get (rupees/km) if you compare it with petrol. As far as I remember and from observing his setup he was using the same petrol tank for that purpose he had already placed that carbonate in the tank and when he adds water the reaction starts and after a while when a certain amount of hydrogen is produced and pressure is developed he was able to start the car for a short round trip for the camera. Obviously, he couldn't share his "secret ingredient" and there were no takers for his "invention" just media hype to gain some TRP. As far as remember he was not even an engineer just a diploma holder that too from a lesser-known institute. Why expensive ?
About unsafe, was the hydrogen released and used in real-time or was it stored and then used ?

Anyways lets put it in chemistry. Whatever method being used to produce hydrogen it needs energy to break water into hydrogen and oxygen. This hydrogen can then again used for burning process.
How energy used to break water can be less than energy produced by burning hydrogen in car engine? Also at the time of burning atleast 60 to 70 percent energy get wasted and lost in environment. If he is using some chemical to break (which is not possible as breaking water is very expensive process) then what the price of that chemical ?
Engine can always run on hydrogen. This is nothing new. Its all about at which cost ...Hi,
You are confusing the issue.
It was not about using more energy or less energy---even though it was----.
The show and pomp was directed towards a chemical reaction that created a fuel to burn and run a car engine.
He succeeded in that---though extremely unsafe and not efficient at all.
