Construction Crew Accidentally Buries a Man Alive While Paving a Road

A 45-year-old man was accidentally buried alive under a freshly paved road after he apparently fell into a crater in Bhopal, India, according to reports.

The incident would have gone unnoticed had residents not found the man’s arm sticking out from the freshly tarred road, according to The Times of India.
Villagers blocked traffic for the body to be exhumed and the man was pronounced dead.
Two road workers involved in the incident were arrested and booked for negligence leading to death, according to reports.
An investigating officer told The Times of India: “It was dark and there were no warning signs. He would have been walking in an inebriated condition when he fell into the pit between Udlana and Hata village and lost consciousness.”

The officer also said that “workers must not have noticed him while filling the pothole.”
