Speed of light is 3x10^9 m/s.
2 mach is speed of sound which is 3x10^5 m/s twice which is 6x10^5.

Combining both gives 3.006x10^9 m/s, which is faster than light. Implying this (if the direction of light is same as the direction of aircraft), you have something faster 0.02% faster than speed of light!

Secondly 2 Mach is twice more than the speed of sound..If you are flying 1 mach you are already exceeding the speed of sound.

Mach number depends on the LSS and TAS..Anyways lets not get into this $hit..Its stupid and funny thread but your Physics logic is flawed.

The speed of light is 3x10^8 m/s

The speed of sound it 344m/s in ambient pressure which changes with local fluid density and pressure. Mack number = Speed of object / LOCAL speed of sound. Because as mentioned speed of sound changes with density/pressure.

So 2Mack is simply 688m/s if the pressure is 1bar (atmospheric).




I know all these like a back of my hand because they drill these things into us in Aerodynamics lecture
