What you missed is that, the US faced multi-billion dollars loss in Afghanistan through Pakistan and couldn't tolerate it so first they tried to increase drone attacks and attacks on civilians and army posts. Even that didn't help then they bowed down towards Pakistan asking for apology, which they earlier refused to do.
