What's new

Stunning new Picture pf Tejas with full load and fuel tanks

Your all completely Wrong as much as some people in this thread/forum would like to see this fail AND even some indian ministers and high ranking air force leaders see it fail in favour of foreign order for SE fighters to make bribes $$$ ......... the tejas has now inducted and arrived.

IAF has infact placed the follow on order to take orders to 123 planes

The above picture is a twin seater and the first 40 fighters include 8 twin seaters
The second batch of 83 includes 11 twin seaters.

For those who doubt the indian ability to make weapons I suggest you look at the huge progress the indian navy has made . They now build world class destroyers and soon a 40000 tonne carrier. No other country in this region has indengious capability of this size and variety

india has the money and the foreign help it needs to make 123 tejas work

usa engines for now
French support for the indengious kaveri engine in future post 2025
Israeli radar HMD and missles soon to be future changed to indian aesa and astra bvrs

And to individual who said tejas cant carry brahmos he is completely unaware that india is currently developing next generation brahmos which is 50% smaller and longer range which will be arming tejas.

But as pointed out already with su30mki rafales the stand off weapons for india will be brahmos mki combo and soon small nos of rafale/scalp combo. until mark 2 tejas/amca /ng brahmos is inducted in ten years time.

This is beginning not the end of Tejas

None other than the defense minster of singpore flew in tejas last month

Thank you for your detailed reply, If it is working out for India and IAF that is good, and good luck.

Nothing is working out. The idea of this project was started in 1969. Tejas has been in testing since 2001 and still not attained FOC in spite of all major components/subsystems being imported.

Put a GE/Rolls Royce engine in my ***, and even I'll carry a heavier payload.........
No I wont. I would rather hook you up with my running mate, she is a single mother and a good company

it is not a small task. jets let alone military jets is seen as an exclusive domain of the west and they are very proud of it. be proud for what is achieved from this project. India might buy off the shelf cheaper and better alternatives but still its something to show to the world.

If Indian Air force and Indians are happy with the progress and TEJA program, there is nothing for me to tell them otherwise, they know the reality and they know the future as well. so good luck wishes are best i can offer.

It does not work like that.

Politicians keep funding it to keep the workers and unions happy for votes.

IAF wants to demonstrate to public that they are not anti-indigenous products so keep supporting the project even though they know that it would never see the light.

HAL/ADA keep coming up new delivery dates every year to request more funds.

It has become a political hot potato no one wants to touch even though everyone involved knows that it will never be inducted.

It's good enough to replace mig21..I don't know what's more to think about! Tejas m1a is the way to go.
Tejas mk2 should be scrapped...and hal should start the development for a decent twin engine fighter...

It would have been a good fighter to replace MIG-21s in 1990s not in 2020s. It's just three decades late. That is the crux of the problem.

A featherless chick indeed,

I was quite young when I heard about Tejas, it took too much time, I was expecting at least 4.5 gen stealth feature jet but what they produce is a featherless, tailess chick.

Well it makes a good show piece that could satisfy the egos of 1 billion people.

TEJAS has and will continue to exist in Pictures and videos ONLY. It is almost as if the poor Tejas was design to do some 'modelling' for bollywood.
