STUDENT'S AMAZING 23-LEVELS

Ali Moeen Nawazish picked up 23 A-levels

Saturday January 31,2009

By Anit Dawar

A BRILLIANT student has been hailed one of Britain’s brightest undergraduates after passing 23 A-levels in one year.

Ali Moeen Nawazish, 18, is now studying computer science at Trinity College, Cambridge.

The doctor’s son, who says he has a “thirst for knowledge”, sat 22 A-levels and two AS-levels, the equivalent of another A-level, after studying for up to 10 hours a day.

He netted 22 A grades, one B and one C.

Subjects included traditional qualifications like physics, chemistry and maths, and more modern additions such as Thinking Skills and Critical Thinking.

Ali, whose family live in Pakistan, said: “Physics, maths and computing are my real strong point.

“Some of the subjects were trickier than others, such as psychology. I only began studying for the subject three days before the exam so there was a lot to get in. I was pleased to get an A.”

Ali sat all the exams with accredited boards Ed-Excel and Cambridge International: Examinations at the Roots High School in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

The youngster, named Top in the World for O-level computer science by exam board CIE, sat his first seven exams in June 2007, three in November 2007 and the remainder in June 2008.

Dr Nick Bampos, senior tutor at Trinity, said: “When we first interviewed him we thought ‘this can’t be right’. We’ve never heard of any applicant with anywhere near as many A-levels. It’s enormously impressive.”

Holy crap, 10 Hours of study a day? Super human!

I'm sure this guy would loose all his hair by the time he'll reach 25. Genius people tend to shed hair more than the average guy. lol

.
man....we really need him back here in pakistan after his graduation :P....

. .
Well i only pray he comes back to Pakistan and not sucked in by the Westerns, but i also think what we have him to offer!!

Ali Moeen Nawazish FOR THE PRESIDENT.:enjoy:

He is a Genius mann, I get 5 subjects in one semester and i get Screwed  all the TIME and sometimes during the Exams i also sit for 10 hours and even more if i have more exams on consecutive days.(But I take lot of breaks :coffee: for meal, Namaz and some TV :pop: also for few minutes just for refreshment). BUT this Student is amazing 23 Subjects:woot: and he got A in most of them. COOL man really COOL.

Pakistan needs such students, :undecided: But i don't think he will come back to Pakistan for obvious reasons.

.
man we need more pakistanis like him unfortunately theres fewer opportunities and less money in pak so i would be surprised if he decides to stay in the west.Still i'm happy for him just goes to show we have some talented people.

Well I only need a couple of hours to finish my work. 10 hours to me sounds like a good amount of time that could be used for a great nap!

The fact is Pakistan has been suffering from a major "Brain Drain" were our most talented and skilled workers, medical students/doctors, scientist, students/academics, engineers, and professionals move to the West and become expatriates...

Pakistan suffers immensely because of this. It makes it extremely difficult to develop civil society without such talented and skilled people...

Correction, 24 subjects not 23:eek:, 22 A Levels and two AS-Levels =24 subjects total. He netted 22 A grades, one B and one C.

less likely that he'll come back to pakistan and help his nation out
but in pretty sure there are alot of kids like him in pak 2
only if our nations had programs to give them a chance and make a good use of their intelligence and not subject them to work under anyone for commercial reasons

MashAllah some of our fellow Pakistanis are very intelligent. I've seen very intelligent Pakistanis in U.S., they are way more intelligent than the regular Americans. I've also seen many intelligent Pakistanis in Pakistan, but not everyone can afford a good education in Pakistan...

american students are quite dumb compared to international students
i know one pakistani kid that got into an ivy league school on a full scholarship
if he hadnt gotten the scholarship he would have been paying $55,000 yearly.
