Yes israel has proven the world what it can do to a barren lnd... we should utilize this knowledge in dry regions of india...

Hong Kong on the other hand, actually imports the majority of its water from the mainland.

We import something like 70% of our water from Guangdong.

We could have gone the Singapore way, but I don't think anyone actually believed that the mainland would have cut off the water supply to fellow Chinese.

Moot point now of course, since HK has re-unified with the mainland. :cheers:

A few good news of recent days which are not defence related.

India replaced Korea as the top source market for Israel from Asia last year with 41,000 tourist arrivals. The Ministry of Tourism, Israel has identified India as a priority market with huge potential and is planning to set up its office in Mumbai within a year. This office will take care of marketing and promotional activities in Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kerala.

Last year, Israeli companies invested over $3 billion in India, in sectors ranging from dairy farming to real estate to hospitals.

In 2008 in Mumbai, companies from both sides held discussions for cooperation in building new technologies in solar energy, IT, robotics and others.

Israel has a close relationship with India on water management and other green initiatives, particularly agricultural. The Tel Aviv-based company Netafim, which provides irrigation solutions for agriculture and landscaping, has put more than 14,800 acres of land in Andhra Pradesh, known as the 'Rice Bowl of India', under sprinkler and drip irrigation.
