How many versions of the bible are there Mick? quite a few which have been changed over the years.

Also there is a saying "lost in translation" hence it is regarded as being better to read it in Arabic. give me a minute and i will find bible excerpt which claims it is ok to beat women.

Ah, so different translations and interpretations of the Koran contradict each other..

It's not that they controdicat each other, it's just that in some english translations, old english is used, while in others, new englsih is used. Also some translations explain how a certain thing is said, while others translations litterly translate word to word.

I see burka more as a cultural symbol than a religious one...

I could be wrong, but I have seen women trying to show their cultural behaviour.

I don't know for sure if religion comes first, or culture? And what happens if these two things clash...
