Strategic Importance of Siachen

all thanks to Mr. Bill Clinton.
Your army did nothing more than climbing... when ever it tried to fight they failed.
Now when our next general take it back don't cry foul.

means you guys are puppets of america?

Pakistan never won a battle against India. There is absolutely no debate about this.
many pakistanis might claim of a ridge, a peek, a lake or a tree....but the bottom line is. YOU LOST:lol:

^^ Now go back to subject and try differentiate Kargil from Siachin on map.

Fact is that Kargil (how ever part of Siachin) was no stretigic in eyes of Indian army untill Musharraf invaded with handful vs. world XI

I wish Pak posters would decide once & for all what happened in Kargil. Most still maintain like GOP that it was the ' irregulars" like Mujadideen who went in & that GOP had no role to play at all.

As regards what happened ..well , India was taken by surprise but like all Pak mily actions ( Gibraltar, Laungewala etc) thius too was not thought through to its possible consequences & logical end.

Once the heat was turned on by India by mobilising to activate the western front the Pak PM was compelled to self invite himself to US & such was the urgency that he chose to meet Clinton on 4th July a national holiday and request for scaling down.

The body bags contained bodies of NLI solidiers.

In any property dispute possession is the key and 90 % of the law. India holds possesion & so it shall stay.

The recent unfortunate incident of loss of lives of 165 soldiers on the Pak side has once again highlighted the sheer stupidity of the stand taken.

1. the dead bodies of slodiers with PA id cards just magically arrived there ?? wow whatta logic man

2. Ur leaders flocked to US fearing a backlash from IA and none of leaders went out... on a second thought, maybe they were cowards also to flee their country, is also a logical conclusion by your kind of logic.

Dont they say that the most important tool of war is diplomacy.. But I guess Pakistani leaders are blissfully unaware of this.. Thats why after every lost war/battle Pakistanis come up with excuses like.. Airforce was not involved...Bad planning... corrupt politicians..Bad Amreeka ;).... etc etc...

Kargil probably was a lottery win for India where Musharraf in his failed bid to avenge Siachen, ended up embarassing Pakistan thru public humiliation of its Prime Minister in Washington is an almost public whipping by Clinton which then resulted in a turkey shoot where thousands of Pakistani army men were killed and most of them couldnt be even received back in Pakistan and had to be buried unnamed and unmarked in their enemy land...

Reconfirmation of how genious Musharraf was, who changed the Indian army's text books for ever.

No doubt, Musharraf will live as a legend in worlds military history, incl. Pakistan.
Mush, a legend? A genius?

And how has he changed the Indian Army's textbooks forever? Hell! This is getting hillarious!
He screwed up the Kargil conflict so bad that this misadventure due to faulty planning and lack of foresight cost the Pakistan Army dear including the hoards of militants who were mainly used as porters and sometimes to man weapon pits during pee breaks!

The Pakistani Forces led by General Ashraf Rashid had under him troops of the Special Services Group (SSG) as well as seven battalions of the Northern Light Infantry that covertly set up bases on the vantage points of the Indian-controlled region. These Pakistani forces were backed by Kashmiri guerrillas and Afghan mercenaries.

In spite of this force level and covert deployment that did catch the Indian intel by surprise initially, Mush not only screwed up strategically but was left wanting in planning and execution even at the tactical level. And that spelled disaster!

So yes, Mush's failed strategy and tactics changed the Indian army's text books forever - by showing how not to plan an operation!

And what the dickens has Siachen got to do with Mush's botched and failed operation in Kargil?

Oh yeah? You seem to be brainwashed by the usual mullah propaganda and you've lapped it up like there's no tomorrow!! Let's see if the Indian Army did nothing more than climbing...

June 6 - Indian Army launches major offensive in Kargil
June 9 - Indian Army re-captures two key positions in the Batalic sector
June 13 - Indian Army secures Tololing in Dras
June 29 - Indian Army captures two vital posts — Point 5060 and Point 5100 near Tiger Hill
July 2 - Indian Army launches three-pronged attack in Kargil
July 4 - Indian Army recaptures Tiger Hill after an 11-hour battle
July 5 - Indian Army takes control of Dras.
July 7 - India recaptures Jubar Heights in Batalik
July 11 - Pakistan begins withdrawal; India captures key peaks in Batalik
July 14 - Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee declares Operation Vijay a success. Government sets condition for talks with Pakistan
