Stick to English please!

But Pakistan Affairs section is not limited to Pakistanis. Think of this as an opportunity to brush up your language skills.

Please do not approve the use of Turkish in Food, Culture and News threads without making it clear that they cannot be made outside. I have had to delete a string of posts that made no sense.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the record, earlier we have only allowed non-English posts in the Members Club but the spillover effect means we have them in mainstream threads with an international audience.

More often than not, users are making chit-chat type posts using language barriers as an excuse.

Are there any other issues that need to be addressed?

Okay. In deed there wasn't much Turkish in there. So sticking with English in there, okay?

@Elmo I vehemently disagree with @hinduguy's accusation. @Secur, me and @Armstrong take great pains to prepare cogent, coherent and comprehensible posts while neither resorting to logorreah nor to needless eloquence. Unless one of us is trying to pull the other's leg over in Naswar or some other select thread, then we can be rather creative. Hinduguy, unfortunately, is just a hater.

Boys! It's all right to be open.

I agree with what you stated, but we do have a considerable audience now from the Middle East and Americas.

It's about being open to them as well.

7.5% from USA and Canada, and no country in the Middle East in the top 10:

(I hope that my English was easy to comprehend for all.)

Aah... I see some tables being tilted. I will let the respondents reply: @Armstrong @Dillinger @Argus Panoptes @Secur

I do not even remember , the last time , when I talked in any other language , besides English :D

Second , I am ready to explain this not-so-hard verbose and proseful English , if @hinduguy and assorted members , so desire , at times . They just have to make a formal request in such case .

Grammatically proper but complex language, which is/was taught in the classical style in our English-medium schools is pretty similar, isn't it? I vaguely recall that you were confused with another member a while ago based on similar writing style.

May be it is time to switch to the simpler "subject, verb, object" form to aid universal comprehension?

No, you just need to stick to a universal language for universal comprehension. Why do you have to take everything to an extreme?

427 Pakistanis only?

How is it possible?:what:
Anyways,I appreciate Miss Elmo's decision,I also feel difficulty while browsing Turk and Irani posts,as I am totally unaware of it.

Sirjee, look again and CAREFULLY. That column is RANK in that country, NOT absolute numbers of visitors from there.

I can only hope and request that the advice being given in this thread to "Stick to English please" is communicated better (with warnings? maybe?) so that compliance is improved:

Meray Dost, ugger koi Ankhon ka undha hai aur kannoon ka Behra hai tou kisi terhaan ka Saboot nakafi hoga.

Verna Aqaalmund kay liye Issharra kafi hai.

Sainkaroon loog jinhoan nay Altaf Hussain ki Mukhalfat ki, Murda pai gaye.

Days before my cousin was murdered, Altaf Hussain had threatened the " Teen Talwar " People that his assassins will eliminate those organizing the Protest at " Teen Talwar " Clifton. My Cousin was the main organizer of that PTI protest.

How much more evidence will you need ?

@Elmo, It's easier to get away with posting in Urdu/Hindi than in other non-english languages. Now it's highly likely that as a moderator you notice a member posted in his native tongue only when you (an Urdu/Hindi speaker) don't understand what he just said. So I noticed that posts after posts were being made in Urdu/Hindi with no one really intervening.
