Steel Cutting of Type-54A for Pakistan Navy

The backdrop says Ship No. 2. so this is not the first unit but the second unit whose steel cutting is being done.

I think we can expect delivery of the first unit by end of next year

Not really costing us. F16 Block 52 were a great value addition to PAF fleet. In a year or two PAF would have its first AESA aircraft along with work on 5th generation aircraft started. Things are stable but can be improved in my view.
I wish and pray that you are right about things getting approved but with the current situation in hand in my view we are still stuck in 90s scenario after Pressler's amendments ... We had one of the best aircraft of 80s but the inability to upgrade them pushed us behind and at the end, we have to rush to PGs just to keep the squadrons active ...

Thunder is a great aircraft but it cant get air superiority role ... It can face flankers but not Rafael ...

Ok lets put it this way .. the reliance we put on in USA in the last decade by purchasing more block 52s that keep on draging risk of sanctions is costing us now ... and despite our f16s can get upgrade and will provide a fighting chance to paf even after arrival we are stuck ... unless we please uncle SAM or we induct another platform next decade will be one of the worst for PAF
Those f16s came at a negligible price..i think this has been dicussed to death..getting latest gen 18ac+46 upgrades at less than 1.5b$ is massive deal..(adding500m funded by usa its 2b excluding weapons)
New f16s were rejected by PAF for same reason cost

In 1990s china was as bad as Pakistan when it comes to tech while russia had financial issues

So its not the 1990s

I am having a feeling ,Pakistan ordered Two different type frigates ….. These are from First batch of 4 , spouse to be next gen P-22 ……. We might see 4 more (different ) frigates ….. According to news, Pakistan sign contract for Frigates on two different oceans ..
Rest time will tell.

I was about to point that out .. ship No.2 means first ship must be almost ready and probably on sea trails .

No, All four will be Type 54B, best is to go for 4 of these and later get type 52D (2 or 2+2) , and while we are at it ,upgrade the existing F-22P with a 16 Silo VLS , and Harba .

Remember, the $83 m for each F-16 tag includes logistics and maintenance support. It's definitely a lot of money, but it's much, much less than the $280+ m per plane of the Rafale or Typhoon.

Under the original FMF deal with Obama, 40% of the contract would be funded by the US, leaving the PAF with the other half. The US was going to pay for the planes while the PAF was going to pay for maintenance.

At some point, the Pakistani armed forces as a whole decided not to spend national funds on US weapons, just military assistance funding. @Oscar I hear that the US MIC is trying to work on loan packages (akin to what the Europeans do) for Pakistan as a means to reverse some of the Chinese and Turkish inroads in the Pakistani market.

I hope we get a serious helo with these FFG

Not the Z9C

More like Z-20 or Z-18 variant

Helicopter is just as important
