Lolz,LRSAM integrated now and range increased to 100 kms.Barak-8 is way better than anything PLAN could dream of as far as naval SAM is concerned.
Do be here when its launched from kolkata this month.

Once again irrelevant to your "most" assumption. Shtil slanted launcher is only used onboard 4 Chinese Sov and 2 Type 052B destroyer vs 17 commission Type054A using Chinese VLS. My poor choice of words have got you guys misunderstood what I meant .

I am not proposing to dump the RBU rockets but what I am saying is that the launch barrels of this system like the Shtil arm launcher is a negative feature ..... sticks out like a sore thump .... contributing to the RCS as well I think .... even in the P17A design .

Is there any VLS version of this system avaliable ?? or atleast a version where the launch barrels retracts into the deck ??

Kurup IMO changing system won't be a better idea since RBU is a really good system plus it would take space of other VLS hence I think we should start working on a model which is encased in a stealth cupola like the Naval artillery systems. What say?

In china , You could not furnish that Ukraine Junk in 14 years. To score over India, you inducted that junk before we inducted Vikramaditya and its engine failed. It is not worth even training forget about going high sea and fight a war.

No there isn't.Because then whole radar and sensors will have to be replaced.

But the p-17A -the seven follow on upgraded shivaliks will have barak-8 ER.(150 km from current 100km)

RBU is sufficient for current ships.For our future ASW/escort ships like P-17A upgraded shivalik and P-28A upgraded kamortas we should look to replace this system with russian Paket-NK or german ATLAS Sea Spider.
Paket can act both as torpedo and anti-torpedo making it superior overall.
Sea spider is pure anti-torpedo torpedo,but being a specialist is probably better at just this job than paket.

Crucially both systems are mounted on sides of ships hulls like normal torpedo mounts and don't affect RCS.They will free up deck space.

Russia is in Syria u should be worried about that.
