Pakistan is more than 7x smaller than india and doesn't have abundant access to the world's most advanced weapons systems like india does. Yet we control 40% of Kashmir and there is nothing india can do about it

My take on it as a foreign muslim.


Pakistan's strengths would be that:
- Pakistani troops are very motivated by an intense patriotism or by religion. (many see Pakistan as a champion of Islam.)

- Pakistan has a large number of combat-experienced officers & soldiers. One cannot overlook the fact that over 140,000 Pakistanis have fought in the war on Terrorism since 2004.

- Pakistan has the backing of the Islamic World and thus sources of equipment and funding. Wars are not cheap (the US spent $500,000 per soldier in Afghanistan & Iraq!) but unlike India, Pakistan will have access to the wealth of the Gulf Arabs who will be able to cushion the financial damage the war will cause.

- Pakistan is somewhat self-sufficient, it produces its own tanks, weapons, fighter jets and more. Regardless of their quality, if arms sanctions are placed on Pakistan, this will not heavily impact the war effort because Pakistan can simply produce their own equipment.

Pakistan's weaknesses would be that:
- India has a larger industrial base and can always out-produce Pakistan. India has more factories and workers. No matter how hard Pakistan tries, India has the capacity to outproduce them. If it becomes a war of Attrition, Pakistan will lose.

- Pakistan's navy will be overwhelmed and India can blockade Pakistan. The Pakistani Navy has 5 attack submarines & 10 frigates. In comparison, India has 15 attack submarines, 2 aircraft carriers, 11 destroyers & 14 frigates.

- India would have more international support. We cannot forget that in today's world: Muslim = Evil/Aggressor. Even if it's India who attacks Pakistan, the Media in most countries will twist into a story where Pakistan is responsible for the Indian invasion. Even many Chinese have anti-Islam views and i've met many who told me they hate Pakistanis for this reason and prefer India.

Have been saying this for a long time. Pakistan needs more corps. Even though many would say pak needs quality which is totally correct, a short term solution is to have more corps. Pak has no alternatives to boots on ground.

So, a full operational mountain strike corp in gilgit, one strike corp in sindh may be sukkur. This will change the dynamics of power to a great deal.

You're not mentioning the Indian combat exp... since 3 4 decades we're fighting a unconventional war sponsored by pakistan in kashmir.. and most of their war against the terror from air... look at the last ops against ttp.

Since indians and pakistanis hate each other they both are well motivated. But again that motivations of pakistani soldiers didn't help them be it 71,85 or 99

Despite which Mr Little Weaner man, you still could not reclaim ANY land that was ripped and carved out of india on August the 14th 1947 . More than a 1000 years of rule by various foreign empires from around the globe still haunts and affects the indian psyche till this very day. Something which can never be forgotton or undone

Kiddo... go read the international version of 47 war... cease fire came to effect when we were pushing you back.. you aim was jammu which we stopped thus the cry over kashmir begun for pakistan... and you should be proud of you miliyary achievementa... 47 invaded the undefended kashmiri territories from kashmir maharaja but couldn't complete it, in 65 sneaked in regular soilders and terrorist in civilian cloths and started the surprise invasion which was again couldn't complete finally ended up saving Lahore. in 85 silently moved to capture siachen where a surprise was waiting from indian side.. in 99 captured the empty indian posts when we're not there,thinking you can negotiate for siachen and got northern light infantry whooped...

The above scenario is pathetic and low grade due to poor thinking and being devoid of the ground reality. AT LEAST $60 billion has already been invested in Pakistan by China with many more billions earmarked for investments in the coming years and decades. Chinese strategic assets are CURRENTLY now scattered all over Pakistan. In case of war the Chinese would want them and their investments protected. They won't directly get involved in any conflict but they would provide Pakistan with unlimited supply of top of the line high-tech tech weapons systems en-masse and other goodies. Coupled with the fact that China has the biggest advanced industrial base in the world that the indians cannot match, this would heavily favour Pakistan. And that's even before the nuclear option is exercised. So the prognosis of Pakistan's weakness in your above post is complete rubbish, null and void.
