Just curious, well you may call it trolling, but before the satellite, how can Chinese fishermen work in SCS? China claims they have fished there for thousands of years.

if you saw the video the title should be "State-developed satellite system allows Chinese fishermen to the South China Sea Safely."

how did we fight without the new infantry equipment before, like GPS, sat com, night vision, protective armor, OICW, APCs, and other gadgets?

Badly, that's how we fished before.

Yeah, OP should do that. Or other Viet mems would start trolling, hard. I am just poking around.

You are making a mistake comparing soldier to civilian. Soldier obeying orders, their job is to fight, with whatever they have. Following orders, they can even charge into a massacre, using bayonets vs machinegun nests. Civilian do not have the same kind of "spirit". Soldier often fights for a higher cause, while civilian do their job to live. If fishing in SCS (I mean offshore, long away from the coast) was dangerous to Chinese fishermen before the satellite, then China claims of historical fishery farms in SCS is ridiculous. Because if you think about it, Chinese fishermen would have to risk their lives on monthly, yearly basics to try to live another day. And probably their sons and grandsons will continue risking their lives too, because it was the family tradition.
