The wealth of Punjabis in Pakistan is because of the fiefdom that still exists in Pakistan. It has nothing to do witheir "hard work". It is the hard work of the serfs serving Punjabi zamindars.

Punjab had the most successful land reforms. Only a handful of feudal lords remain in Punjab. The fief structure is the worst in Sindh and Balochistan. I think in Balochistan, a normal Baloch can't even own land.

Reforms maybe now, what about the early decades? The wealth has already being earned and it is unlikely Pakistani landlords will support further land reforms.

Land reforms were undertaken by Ayub Khan and Z.A.Bhutto. Z.A.Bhutto's reforms were more stringent, but many Sindhi and Baloch feudals had joined Bhutto's party and hence saved their lands. Punjabi feudals who were with PPP are still feudal lords(i'e Mustafa Khar). The ones who weren't with bhutto had to forfeit their lands. Baloch feudals only agreed to join Pakistan if Pakistan made sure their lands weren't touched and their chieftainship structure wasn't broken.

What I am saying is that because Punjab is the biggest province in Pakistan and hence with bigger number of zamindars it is only natural that Punjab will be more wealthy than other parts of Pakistan. It is a fertile state and hence will make more moolah for the local zamindars.
