Pak army doesn't issue bullet proof vests to soldiers.

They issue plate carriers with armour plates or tactical vests without armour plates.

Looking at pictures, they have been wearing all kinda stuff. There is no uniformity in the gear. It’s look like they issue whatever they receive for free (collusion support) usually older US military gear, or from cheapest contractor. May be some ret general is making money.

Definitely and absolutely not how it works, it’s been discussed before how these acquisitions are made in the PA on this forum.

The answers are already available in more detail in the relevant threads, I wish people would read them when they have questions.

Basically, HQ publishes a list of equipment of each type (weapon accessories, plate carriers, plates etc.) that are tested and cleared for purchase and use, it is then up to each regiment to purchase it’s own gear for its troops from alloted funds and keep their equipment at a certain standard, there are checks to maintain said standard in case a regiment is not keeping up. That’s why there can be multiple different types of the same thing in service, one regiment purchases one type, another goes with another, as long as they are from the approved list, it’s fine. Yes, a single standard is more ideal, but that is in a way more expensive and difficult to accomplish. (And keep in mind this might not be exactly how it works, someone else can probably explain it better or add to it/correct it, but that’s the basic idea behind it from my knowledge).

Safety equipment should be evaluated by professionals, including someone with scientific knowledge of materials, someone with business sense to reduce procurement cost. Then issue force wide. Not by every regimental level colonel joe.

I think you didn’t read my post properly at all.

The evaluation is not done by the colonel in every regiment, it’s done by a specific department within the army who’s sole job is this, what do you think the Quartermaster general does in the army?
They approve the list of equipment that can be bought, after testing of course, and then the regiments buy based off that list. And then another department also ensures that each regiment is maintaining a certain standard of equipment.
So ideally, If competent and relevant people are running these two departments, then that list should only have quality equipment, and the regiments buying anything from said list shouldn’t face issues with the equipment when they buy it, nor should any regiment fall behind on equipment or buy sub-par stuff.

Wether that is actually true in the field, is better answered by others.

Matching bulletproof vest. I have been seeing Black vest over camouflage uniform for last 10 years. Seriously what kinda idiot issue those. It totally eliminates the purpose of camouflage uniform.

That black is way tooo obvious. Any trained eye or heck even a layman just gonna see this black speck moving. Guess what...

But the woodland gets 10/10 for style in my book.

Seriously it’s common sense, may be it done by design for PA to have more casualties in WoT. Foreign power facilitated cheap availability of black color vest and bribed few officials to add it to approved list.

Enemy can see and aim at a Black spot (vest) from a Km away.

Regardless who did it, If standard of Quality and evaluation in Army is black vest over camouflage uniform then. RIP.

Clearer pictures of the soldier with new camo (and beside him one with the usual one). However the interesting thing is that out of several ssg personnel in the entire video shown in different spots at the ground, only the ONE is wearing this particular uniform. Is there a reason for that?

what it looks like is some bootleg version of desert tiger stripe got intermixed with desert tricolour.
