Fully agree re: MG-3, it's cumbersome to use and deploy, reliable platform dating back to WWII but outdated now and as you have mentioned we have better systems available in market, why not use those.

I've always found the G3 to have great accuracy in single shot but unreliable when using fully auto, the length makes it impractical for CQB, it can be retained for training and doled out to Levies, police and paramilitary forces as they did with the SKS which still saw service with FC in the 90's and early noughties before being replaced by the G3 and SMG 7.62.
MG3 has to go period it is a great gun for sentry duty but for the modern age where mobility is of great importance it is no longer viable the Turks have great LMGs we should take a look.

Seeing how the army is "Budget" conscious it's hard to say when we will see newer inductions however the Indians have started to phase out their Brens and have adopted the Israeli Negev for the good.

You are right but you can't just compare a Medium Machine Gun with a Light Machine Gun which purpose is to be a Squad Automatic Weapon

so if you belittle our guns why not SSG buy fn mag and us saw instead of mpt 76?
Hi,

It is not belittling 'your' rifle. All modern rifles are a somewhat copies of each other.

SSG will not induct a 762 round into service for obvious reasons. They have however been looking into replacing the currently in service M4s with a more modern firearm like SCAR-L or HK-416 variants, but it has not materialized thus far.
