They are not always for a fee. AoL charges more in the major cities even, slightly lower in other cities etc. There are camps in the villages that are free. All year round. There are plenty of schools run by it as well - again no fees. As for the camps that are charged, there is a reason, which I find very sound. Indians don't do philanthropy. Indian will spend 10k on a new mobile. But ask for 10 rupees for a charitable cause and you will find very very few takers.

Indians are notorious when giving recognition to stalwarts. Vivekananda became popular only after he was dead. Tagore was recognized AFTER he got the Nobel prize....and so on.

SS Ravi Shankar and Art of Living had been working for the relief camps for some time. But this time he himself left for Iraq flying directly into the camps currently controlled by the Peshmarga(!/?) Anyway, whoever holds the land is secondary. Just that food etc has been transported 110 tons of it last week. Since communications are almost non existent, it took some time to get these pictures. But hopefully you will like it.

. You have to be blind and stupid to not see the trend . Some RSS guy gives Laddu and is in prime time for 5 days. Owaisi asks Hindus to run and its no where in the news. Person like SS Ravi Shankar going to Iraq and helping Yazidis is not a small time charity event so yes it needs to be in the news, forget Prime time its barely in the news by itself .
