India always had the advantage, which increased year by year. Post-9/11, Pakistan's old strategy became useless, not because the Kashmiri freedom struggle is terrorism, but because India (and the US) will portray it as such to the world.

and about tue Xinjiang province, there have been reports that the terrorists there are trained in Pakistan or ***.

That's a complicated scenario. I think the Chinese understand that Pak is not supporting the Xinjiang cause the way it might support Kashmir or Afghan insurgency.

On the most serious note, it's not settled and no settlement would work but independence. If you make the borders as they are, the situation would continue with rebellions. No one side can ever have it. And until the two (excluding china) could face that, this issue would not be settled. International attention and pressure is required. It needs to be brough up at the UN again.

Yaara whatever you and me might think, the thread is up and running- it deals with a recent fidayeen attack on Indian soldiers who were stationed in the region- lets not make a Naswar corner out of it is all I am saying. Otherwise every other thread is equally pointless since none of our ramblings will make our weapons sharper, policies smarter or problems smaller- we might as well caper across all threads then yaara.
