Back to topic, expressway, infrastructure, @Azizam that's good news bro! SL does stand out in the region as the most developed economy, numbers don't lie, SL is in the league of ASEAN!

I will update my tally on SL infrastructures.

P.S.: Nice pics, nice maps from @Nihonjin1051 !

Let's get back to the subject matter. Okay, Mr. Bang. :)

@Azizam --- Impressive !
Parallel to this, we need to improve rail network too, especially to improve tourism.

Why do you keep posting old photos and videos Azizam? All of this development happened under the previous administration which YOU wanted to get rid of. Why are you posting about all the development they managed to carry out, especially with the assistance of China?

NOTHING HAS HAPPENED FOR THE LAST 7 MONTHS ever since the new administration took power in Sri Lanka. China has been demonised, and Sri Lanka's biggest investment ever - the Colombo Port City project is in disarray. Highways are being pruned and city streets are littered with garbage.

Sri Lanka is going NOWHERE. It has actually gone backward by more than a decade within the span of 6+ months. This is the change that you wanted right? I remember you screaming and shouting about the previous administration and how Sri Lanka was "internationally isolated."

Sri Lanka is now a nothing country. Political infighting, corruption, lack of planning, filth and dirt, elections after elections. Have fun. Oh wait, you ran away to Britain.

@Sam. , i think its important for us to admire the developments of Sri Lanka these past 2 decades since the conclusion of the civil war in that beautiful island. There are some set backs as you may have seen, but we are all not immune to politically-driven set backs; the point of the matter is that as per the original article, Sri Lanka is now concluding agreements to fund this expressway project with Japan and the ADB as well as with China and China-focused economic platforms. Sri Lanka is an example of the convergence of Sino-Japanese interests in Asia. Convergence, not divergence. :)

@Shotgunner51 my brother, your conjecture? :)

@AndrewJin -- bro, Sri Lanka definitely is a country we both should visit in the future, will allow for us to admire infrastructure of their roads, and who knows, perhaps in the future when Sri Lanka purchases Chinese railway platforms, you can tour some of the beautiful Buddhist shrines and temples in this beautiful island. I do recall you visiting some place in China for a Buddhist retreat? Or was i dreaming?:lol:

@Azizam machan ! Let's keep this thread rolling!! Sugoiyo !!

What samv doing is repeating the same thing over and over again in different threads just to derail any discussion. People like him who just pick one political side for his entire life regardless of policies are quite common in Sri Lanka. It goes on for both sides. He is just sad that Mahinda Rajapaksha (previous president) wasn't elected again. I see MR as more like Suharto in Indonesia. He contributed a lot to Sri Lanka but later on, he started misusing his powers, just like how Suharto almost destroyed Indonesia's economy by giving too much power his own children. He appointed unqualified people he knows and his children acted as if national wealth is their property. In the last few days, it became too much that for instance, his older son started representing Sri Lanka in things that he has nothing to do with (that too with a horrible haircut and unprofessional clothes ) and one of other sons used to take his girlfriend to central Sri Lanka from Colombo on a helicopter. He even made terrible mistakes in his political campaign like bringing an Indian actor to Sri Lanka. Do you think that anything good can come out of keeping such an irresponsible person as head of the state?

In this picture what you see is, MR's oldest son opening a bus station in Sri Lanka (it has absolutely nothing to do with him) and look at his haircut too. This was like a comedy circus.

Machun.. Why do you even bother replying to morons like him.. A perfect example of a third class joker with a third world mentality, Where hero worshipping political thugs precedes national interest.. They are the bane of a prosperous Sri Lanka irrespective of whatever party affiliation

@Nihonjin1051 .. Thanks for those informative maps and articles mate

Actually my reply was for @Nihonjin1051 and of course, this mentality is one of the biggest obstacles for the growth of Sri Lanka.

I'm sorry, but I just don't agree with you. Sri Lanka right now is a stagnant, primitive, backward country. If you don't agree just visit the capital city of the country (which is supposed to be the most developed in the country) and have a look for yourself. Worse yet is the political instability that now reigns riot. Investment projects have been put on hold, political rivalry abounds with the current government trying to take revenge on members of the last one and there is absolutely no plan for the future. The economy is on a downward spiral with economic policy being the handing out of subsidies.

People like @Azizam are just posting old photos and videos because now they have come to the realization that in actual fact, things did happen under the previous administration and there is diddly squat to show for the new one. I would like @Azizam to point out or show us what improvements have taken place with infrastructure at least over the last 7 months or so.

But he can't.

The fact is that previously, Sri Lanka had corruption but also had development.

Whereas now Sri Lanka has corruption, but no development.

@Azizam has to resort to pulling out photos and videos under the previous administration to show that Sri Lanka is "developing" when now in 2015 it most certainly isn't. Sri Lanka is going backwards, and precipitously at that.

Sri Lanka is so prosperous right now, one can see it in the garbage lining the streets of Colombo, the pot holes and the return of hawkers and sellers on the pavements. Sri Lanka is shining so bright it hurts one's eyes.

Central Expressway phase one begins | Adaderana Biz English | Sri Lanka Business News

@Nihonjin1051 seems like you are right. There's less red tape in Sri Lanka as opposed to India. After funding was sorted out, the project quickly started.

The more streamlined bureaucracy, the faster policies or plans can be implemented. That's one trait of Sri Lanka that finds more easy for foreign business partners to invest and set up shop in the Sri Lanka, or vice versa. Thanks for keeping this thread updated, buddy! Want to see pictures soon! :)
