Sri Lanka wants involvement in monitoring mechanism over Kudankulam

indian hegemony.....india has to take care of SL's fear about nuclear plant into account too when any nuke accident/fallout can have adverse effect at SL's northern areas too.

It is not Indian Hegemony wait for India Govt. response and then you can continue with your usual posts

If tamils have spine then frit get out of indian union and then bring northern tamil areas of SL in your control.if you cant.then keep quite.

Why should we? instead India union can annex SL that would be gud idea and boon for Indian economy it will materialise in near future.

Declare Kudankulam plant a threat, activists tell government - Times Of India

Don't know much about this. Someone enlighten us!

Hope the it will happen in the NE monsoon season. Or else we all are doomed.

The plant is Russian built and some of them using the issue to get political clout,There are allegations of foreign fundings to stop the work. The plant is open for IAEA inspection and they declared it safe, the plant is Tsunami safe.

Sri Lanka is looking for her stake in the plant which is not needed or won't be provided, better you consult IAEA!

haha what do you think your country India is?
honestly India has to long way to go become decent country, even the Indonesia is much better than India. Your mentality is to force another country but give a look inside your people, just read some travel logs what others are saying about your country. There is a word set when they write, some words are banned on PDF too.

F*cking Sri Lankans have f*cking laugh when some Indians talk about some things, I respect the moderate Indian members here that's why Im avoiding mentioning those stuff on here. :D

Sri Lanka is not asking for the stake. It wants to ensure that the plant will work safely. That's why we need SL team inside the plant. However GOI won't allow that for sure.

No nuclear plant is accident free.

Don't worry mate he's not Indian but a LTTE troll. Mention him about free Tamilnadu and he will be a goner.

Most of Indian members agree
1. SriLanka has valid concern
2. Action must be taken to satisfy Lanka's Query.
3. I think Indian govt is thinking same, enough will be done to prevent any danger....

^^^
Big countries will bully small countries especially which is going aganist its interests its the history. Tibet and Hong kong etc..are best examples or they establish puppet govt in that country.Did every country praising all p5 members? if many people starts to scolding/ talking aganist you means they feels insecure about your growth/influence.

You give them an inch they will demand a mile. We have been dealing with them for more than a millenium.

Simple ...either scrap the projects as the protesting residents of Kudankulam are demanding or shift the reactors inland from where it can't have effect on SL....Waise bhi if you wana commit suicide then do it alone .Why do you want SL to commit suicide along with you......

Then it should be forced on GOI.

As usual you are in a hurry to jump............... to a conclusion.

First check out the radiation levels after operationalising the plant. Then think about the possibility of suicide. Every time a bus runs on the roads, people don't die below it in a road accident!
Why do you have this odd suicide fixation? Don't see too many horror films? :D

That is why I believe that India should gift Sri Lanka a number of Geiger Muller counters. BTW, they are instruments to measure radiation levels.

When IAEA inspected, no need of SL inspecting.

IT's not about IAEA report. The plant may be safe. But SL concern is to how the plant will be run.

In view of the protests and the concerns of the public around the KKNPP, it is prudent the relevant authorities in Sri Lanka monitor the environmental impact of the KKNPP particularly the discharge of coolant water to the sea and the rise in ambient temperature around our territorial waters. If low grade waste is also discharged it will have serious environmental pollution on our waters and it is recommended that this matter should be taken up through the proper channels with the Government of India and assurances obtained that our seas will be safe.

In the meantime the AEA should work closely with the Marine Pollution Prevention Authority (MPPA) under the Ministry of Environment and closely monitor the pollution levels of our waters in the Gulf of Mannar and the adjoining waters as the KKNPP is at the extreme south of the Indian coast in the Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu.
