Nepal is bw India and China with no direct access to sea whereas Srilanka is an island.

what he is saying is that Nepal is a landlocked country while Sri-Lanka is not landlocked. Even a 5 year old can understand it. Do you know what landlock means?

It's not right to compare Sri Lanka vs Nepal.
Sri Lanka was already leading country in South Asian region in most sections even with the Tamil terrorist issue, JVP issue and tsunami. Second thing Sri Lanka has many international relationships with many countries and it helped a lot to move forward.

Sri Lanka is no where near Malaysia...we are behind Thailand.

I agree with this too, we are locked by water. sometimes it is an advantage to us, sometimes it's not.
