Lot of things have changed since the 70's mate.. SL doesn't have a mere ceremonial armed forces like then.. They have one of the most battled hardened anti guerrilla forces in the world atm.. Infact the only one that defeated a guerrilla force in the 20th century after Malaya.. And the global political spectrum has changed power has shifted to the east

BUT you're right lets not chest thump over if's and but's.. Diplomatic relations are a two way street and Indo Lanka relations have survived relatively well despite fierce animosity within India's southern borders.. Two way trade is the highest among South Asia.. So hopefully it will stay the same despite hiccups for all concerned

I think as far as foreign relations go.. Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the closest allies in the region

can you please back yourself up with some proper evidence or just stfu!! LTTE was the brainchild of indira gandhi ya , your country is already too small . what possible strategic advantage we could get by breaking your island further , and moreover what is the guarantee that once the tigers get there eelam they would not demand for a merger of indian tamil nadu for a greater tamil state there is no end for the greed of political ambitions for these seperatist's we have seen it in kashmir , even a 5th grader can foresee that but you can't .
