Sri Lanka seriously considering purchase of HAL Tejas jets from India.

How exactly are we going to supply them? Or is this part of the minimum production run promised to HAL?

Tejas is way better in all parameter compared to jf 17 its good if they have decided to purchase it

Yes after flying one air show in Bahrain..it is suddenly so much better..when IA itself is requesting enlargement of its fuselage. the GE F404 turbine cannot be exported without due permissions from uncle SAM!

If Sri Lanka can not bare the pressure of any sort then it shud b Tejas they shud go for. In no such case Thunders shud land in SL. I hope India would sideline the requirement of IAF to first fulfill orders from SLAF. Good luck SL.

What flying its a fact tejas is more advance than jf 17 even in current version forget about mark 1a coming with aesa @Abingdonboy & engine is not a problem as india probably has discussed this issue with USA before offering it

I Don't think US Have Any Problem with Sri-lanka.If They Don't Have Problem with Swedish Selling Gripen To Brazil

@Windjammer check out this master piece :D

From the highlighted, the Bharti butt hurt is obvious....these are all self soothing statements, one can also argue that the Tejas story started some 20 years earlier so in earnest this so called 4th Gen aircraft actually incorporates technology that's over two decades old,,,,,,,first we heard that Sri Lanka has pulled out of the JF-17 purchase, then the story was about some older IAF aircraft being transferred to SLAF and now the Tejas factor surely takes the biscuit.

Some medias and officials have this problem of stretching their legs even before they sits on a chair .
LCA prime duty is to fulfill its obligations for our IAF .Then we can think about export.

We know how to gain permission for that engine .For Americans this is a new market.

On topic :I am not sure about these news .

Sir Its Also Incorporates Technology Like Integration of HOBS ECCM With DASH HMDS, Capability Which is Rarely Seen on Fighter Aircrafts in South Asia

Those who are thinking that why are we considering the export of Tejas before induction into IAF, should remember that China who developed FC-1 exported it to Pakistan without inducting a single jet into PLAAF even by now.
Why people keep on saying JF-17 was developed by China and exported to Pakistan? It was jointly developed and manufactured with the intention that Pakistan eventually takes over everything. If LCA were jointly developed by India and Sri Lanka, it would be very natural for Sri Lankan to induct it even if India doesn't.

Let's not count our chickens before they hatch. If and when it comes our way, we'll take it.

no,its counter claim to many pakistanis claiming that its indigenous but actually its more similar to su30mki then tejas in terms of indigenization which none of us claim to be indian.

Cut people some slacks. We Chinese also call J-20 indigenous while it still uses Russian engine. So do Indian with LCA running on American engine.
