It should be noted here that 95% of Sinhalese are peace loving good people and this type of racist attack tarnishes good name of those 95% peace loving good people. It would be wrong to generalise these attacks and yet, there is a small numbers of anti- Muslim elements operating in Sri Lanka. It is a duty and responsibility of any responsible government to take strong action against those who perpetrate these attacks. Government officers should apply rules of law equally to all without bias and prejudice. Otherwise, what is the point of having government, police and courts in Sri Lanka?

They definitely are.. It is well known that thugs like the BBS are acting under certain sections of the Rajapaksa establishment and financed by busy bodies like Norway that do dirty work for the western powers .. They are nothing but rapid dogs that are unleashed at times to divert the attention of the general public from the regimes short comings both domestically and internationally.. But to the credit of Sri Lankan people they know the real powers behind it and so far have haven't given any credence to it bar few opportunists

you are mistaken....not all indians are hindus...i am from a minority community..but i can assure that we feel more safer in haindava bharatham than any other nation...just look into your own nation,where minorities like Christians and hindus were killed /converted on daily basis..and considering them as a second class citizens.,even before law and judiciary...but in india all are equal and we have the same rights like majority hindus..no one is neglecting in any fields,just because of their religion or caste....first,consider your own Pakistani minorities as humans ..then we can talk about the minorities in india..

Looks like this violence was the work of some corrupt politicians using nationalism and religion to gain more votes and power.

This follows series anti- Muslim attacks and anti- Muslims campaign started by BBS two years ago. These continuous attacks on Muslim properties and Muslim places of worship are aimed at destroying Muslim business and Muslims livelihood in Sri Lanka.

This Muslim shop owners brother has abused a kid inside that shop. Police arrested that person, but there was a protest by people claiming police didn't act fast enough. Anyway some group has burnt this shop around 3.00 am.
