No.
But many put up Arabic signboards to show everyone else that they are "Muslim"
Plant date trees to pretend that it is "Arabia"
Wear niqab to pretend that they are Arab.
It's actually quite sad.
Not everyone does this of course.
Because there are many in the West and use their own language and customs...I have also mentioned ‘African’ shopping areas where people may feel the prices are not clear and shops are set up just like markets back home. They should try and assimilate into the Western shopping style streets and have clear pricing and ingredients in English, talk to customers in English only.
Chinese don't go all nutty when they are not "fully assimilated"... is the key difference.
Other groups fare far worse when they are insulated, make ghettos and do not assimilate in even basic ways. They go stir crazy and become nation within another one....and that always brings disastrous consequences long term.
Coming back to topic, Sri Lanka sovereign internal affairs are its own to handle.
Foreign imposed extreme arabic-identity ideology has gone too far, so there is inevitable pushback now (from majority of SL muslims too).
Its not about just being ‘nutty’, in the post I didn’t just mention the issue with Chinatowns but you weaved past that. I also said I think the same about pan-African market type streets that just look out of place in the West, markets set up just like back home untidily.
Many of them are notorious for having prices, signs & ingredients in their own language. The staff will be chatting in Mandarin in the towns or in other languages in the street markets. There have been many issues with foods containing insects or other stuff that people have only found later because it wasn’t labelled properly.
They should be clearly labelled in the national languages, to promote the wellbeing of all communities rather than just the enclaves.
I am all for such measures, yup. A basic framework of integration. Diversity can build on top of that basic framework....rather than at that level and even below it (to undermine).
Next your gonna say "they are muslims to show the world they are arabs"No.

They are going to tear their country apart.Dumb moves.
Instead focus on things that matter - invest on counter terrorism training, equipment and intelligence.
Chinese letters have no relationship with terrorism.
maybe communism?

The government of Sri Lanka Monday banned use of Arabic for street names, according to media reports.
A circular issued by Sri Lanka’s Official Languages Ministry asked authorities to remove Arabic street name boards, Colombo-based Sunday Times reported.
“Authorities will take swift measures to act upon this circular and remove such name boards which violate the law,” the daily quoted Official Languages Minister Mano Ganesan as saying.
"As a common policy, we can't allow street name boards to be printed in any other language other than English, Sinhala, and Tamil," Ganesan said.
The government circular made it mandatory to seek permission in order to use any other language on a street name board.
