Sri Lanka hits back India, No extremists
Sri Lanka says extremists groups from Pakistan have not had any kind of training in Sri Lanka. The dismissal came from Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to reports from a member of the Lakshar-e-Taiba terrorist outfit that he was trained in Colombo.
There are no extremist groups operating in Sri Lanka, Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa told Daily Mirror online in response to the claims.
The External Affairs Ministry had said yesterday that Sri Lanka is in touch with the Indian authorities over claims by the Lakshar-e-Taiba terror suspect that he was trained in Colombo to carry out terrorist attacks on Indian soil.
The Defence Attache at the Sri Lankan High Commission in New Delhi is already in discussions with the Indian Defence Authorities and a comprehensive report over the issue has been sought by the External Affairs Ministry in Colombo, External Affairs Ministry sources had told Daily Mirror online.
