India-Turkey naval exercise begins today

New Delhi: In an effort to further strengthen ties with Turkey, which apart from being the ‘gateway to Asia’ is also a member of North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Indian Navy will hold its first-ever joint naval exercise with its navy on Thursday and Friday.

According to an Indian naval official, “The scope of the exercise will include anti-submarine warfare, coordinated strikes and interdiction drills.”

Four Turkish naval ships will reach Mumbai for the two-day drill after conducting an exercise with the Pakistan navy off the Karachi coast.

The Turkish vessels participating in the exercise are TCG (Turkish Republic Ship), Barbaros, TCG Gelibolu and TCG Gemlik (both Gabya-class frigates), supported by the fleet tanker TCG YBK Gungor.

Exactly! So logic dictates that it is India's ocean and no one else is allowed to play in it without our permission!

Agree, SL is inviting the World to the Indian Ocean, India needs to tell of Sri Lanka.

The closest thing to Indian ocean is probably South China Sea, which is no way as big as our pool :D

. .
Finally Lanka agreed. Turkey must be so relieved.

Phooooo...........:P
