but people can install if they want? or starlink verify your location and is only selling to people living in remote areas? and how many users are possible on starlink?
internet is not considered a basic need. So, it is expensive in Pakistan.local broadband provider in a city for comparable 100-170 mbps or higher speeds
no location check but you do need a credit card and shipping address in one of the countries where the service is officially offered.
99 $ a month isn’t cheap you can probably get a cheaper deal from a local broadband provider in a city for comparable 100-170 mbps or higher speeds. I used to live deep in the Surrey woods about 15 miles from Central London. I used to pay BT 80 GBP for a pathetic 30 mbps. My home was far from the fiber optic HUB and mobile signal couldn’t penetrate the dense forest of trees around my house. I would have killed for Starlink two years ago.
Spaceflight Now said:Once the space lasers are fully deployed, Starlink will be one of the fastest options available to transfer data around the world.
Over the next few decades, SpaceX hopes to put something like 42,000 Starlinks into orbit. The launch Monday night brings the total number of Starlink spacecraft SpaceX has launched to 1,791 satellites, including failed and decommissioned spacecraft, adding to the largest fleet ever put into orbit.
A tabulation by Jonathan McDowell (@planet4589 on Twitter), an astronomer and respected tracker of spaceflight activity, shows SpaceX currently has 1,420 operational Starlink satellites, with more than 100 additional craft moving into their operational positions in orbit.
SpaceX delivered 51 more Starlink internet spacecraft to orbit Monday night with a Falcon 9 rocket launch from California, introducing new inter-satellite laser links to improve how the network relays broadband signals around the world.

We were hoping to do so a little bit sooner, but we’re working on our laser communication terminals …
Youmei Zhou, a SpaceX engineer, hosted the company’s launch webcast. She called it a “huge leap forward” in tech. We’re looking forward to continuing to enhance the network by putting more capacity in space, and really looking forward to truly connect those that are very difficult to connect … Customers are great at selecting great service and great value, so we will find out over the next five or so years what is too much, and what’s not too much. I do believe that there is insatiable demand for data.
