S Korea mulls undersea tunnels to China, Japan

SEOUL - The South Korean government is considering building undersea tunnel links with China and Japan, a spokesman at the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs said on Tuesday.

"At this stage, we are studying the economic and technical feasibility (of building undersea tunnels)," the spokesman told Reuters by telephone, adding that the results of the study were expected later this year.

Earlier, the Chosun Ilbo newspaper reported that proposals included a route connecting western Korea with Weihai in China's Shandong Province, at an estimated cost of 123 trillion won ($106 billion).

Japan once proposed to build a High Speed Railway from Tokyo to Seoul through Tsushima strait, across the Korea peninsula into China's territory, then pass through the whole Chinese mainland from north to south and terminate at HongKong.

Yeah, I don't get that either. India is far from East Asian people's enemy. Actually, India have never done anything to East Asian people. The natural enemy of East Asian is the former Western colonialist (Western Europe and America).

What's your problem with india? in total historical terms the countries with the worst balance against us in terms of Donation-Theft are:

Japan
Britain
US
Russia (stole alot but also helped us in WW2, Korean War, Vietnam, and gave us alot of aid)
France

Last year I think, there was a similar proposal from the Chinese side. If Korea and China both want this, surely it will be built But is there really such a big market for this tunnel?
