South Korea interested in building nuclear power plant in Bangladesh

South Korea is interested in building a nuclear power plant in Bangladesh if the latter also shows interest and conditions are favourable.

Lee Jang-keun, the South Korean ambassador in Dhaka, said on Wednesday the idea of a South Korea-bulit nuclear power plant “might be at the primary stage”.

Speaking to reporters at a discussion organised by the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, he said all both countries need to do is to focus on collaboration for this to happen, reports bdnews24.com.

Citing 2019 data, he said South Korea is the sixth largest nuclear power-generating country with 24 such plants in operation.
Jang-keun noted South Korea sent nuclear power plant technology to the United Arab Emirates as early as 2008 and recently it got the same job in Egypt.

“We have nuclear capacity and we also have technology. If there is interest and the conditions are met by that, the Korean companies might be interested in working with Bangladesh,”

Bangladesh’s first nuclear power plant is being built in Pabna’s Rooppur with assistance from Russia.

.
BD should stick with the current Russian 3+ gen design for the next nuclear power plant.

It would need to learn to operate a whole new technology and maintenance and supplier channel if the 2nd nuclear power plant was not Russia.

The Korean nuclear power station?

I suggest that the govt of Bangladesh invite the French to build nuclear power plants.

Safety, not price, should be considered in the construction of nuclear power plants. The Korean nuclear power technology has not been verified.

But France has 59 nuclear power plants, all of which are very safe.

Safety should be the top priority in the construction of nuclear power plants. Other issues can be discussed later.

Moreover, Koreans are ardent Christian believers, and their hostility to Muslims is no less than that of the French. Koreans often pretend to be Chinese to spread Christianity in Pakistan and Central Asian countries. You should be able to Google relevant news.

Muslims do not sell our soul for a piece of tech.

Also, French refused to share tech with the Indians and would not share their tech with the Muslims?

But, the news report pointed out that South Korea has built 35 nuclear power stations so far.’

South Korea has 24 nuclear power plants, and every year there is news of potential safety hazards.

South Korea once won the bid for the nuclear power project of the United Arab Emirates. But in the middle of the project, the Koreans and the UAE went to ask the French to take over the project. Because the Koreans found that most of the documents and information about their nuclear power technology were forged.

But South Korea's nuclear power plants are really cheap. It is indisputably the cheapest nuclear power station in the world.

BTW: In fact, China is also a major nuclear power country, with an installed capacity of 54.7GW, second only to the USA and France. Moreover, China also has mature nuclear power technology, and has maintained a record of zero accidents since 1985. If Bangladesh is not willing to choose French nuclear power plants, it can consider China.

Below is the excerpt from the wiki. Please read it carefully. South Korea has reached maturity and is able to build a station in BD.

"South Korea is seeking to export its nuclear technology, with a goal of exporting 80 nuclear reactors by 2030. As of 2010, South Korean companies have reached agreements to build a research reactor in Jordan, and four APR-1400 reactors in the United Arab Emirates".

French power stations take too long to build and they are very expensive from the experience of the UK.

BD should stick with Russia as the technology is known to it and from contract signing the first reactor can be online in 6 years.

Our BAL cronies in the PDF were claiming a 1 trillion dollar GDP in 2030. How about building a nuclear power station by these stupid brats? If small countries like South Korea and Japan can build it why not our big-talking BD?

@UKBengali, @Black_cats, @mb444, and other BAL idiots, please do it. But, before that ask your Hasina to build nuts & bolts, commercial sewing needles, small irrigation pumps, etc., etc.

Idiots, better you watch Alibaba's introduction of hundreds of China-made mechanical/ electrical/ electronic goods and know BD cannot produce even one single item.
