It does but we've still dominated India in most sports ; Pakistan has immense talent but currently only members of elite families get to play in international matches - if we could remove this stupid tradition, then we'd sky rocket in every talent and sport.
Indian posters would surely disagree with me but Pakistani's are more natural athletes when it comes to South Asia, But they seem to lack serious sporting culture apart from obsession for cricket, You can see they excel in Field Hockey and Squash if they choose to put more effort in to it
Same goes to Lankans, While they do have somewhat of a sporting culture, It's far removed from the rest of the region.. As i mentioned before only similarities they have with India and Pakistan is Cricket.. Other than that their strong points are Rugby, Netball and Athletics (Sprints).. Somewhat similar to more Anglo Commonwealth sporting traditions like in Australia, New Zealand, Britain and South Africa
Indians are doing really well in the global sporting arena since the Commonwealth games that was held there, There seems to be alot of investment in sports particularly by the Indian private sector, But still it's a underachievement as a sporting nation especially since with such a humongous talent pool to choose from, And with the amount of money being invested in that country for sports
Btw.. there seems to be very very little coverage going on about the games in SL.. Very little media attention, Most people are even unaware of it.. Such a shame
