Sonia Gandhi and Congress Secret Billions Exposed

How many Indians here hate congress? Do they hate them because they are supposedly "secular"? If so Indians shouldn't hate congress because congress R not secular & both your BJP & congress look after safeguarding your dharmic culture even if it means genocide of minorities IMHO. You guys R lucky enough to have 2 parties looking after your core interest.:pop:

Don't you mean pseudo secularism? and if you think Congress never plays the 'religion card' you fail to understand Indian politics, which country has been ruling India for the majority of the time since we got independence?

Politics is a dirty business im fed up of democracy give me a leader like Putin any day.

.
I hope your right the problem is the masses are easily swayed, without educating our youth and creating jobs this democracy becomes a farce people vote for the name Gandhi just like in Pakistan they vote for Bhutto.

I have a fear what if Priyanka and Robert Vadra God forbid make a baby

Agreed. But considering India has the fastest growing middle class on earth and it already stands at ~200 million these are the ones who will bring about change and call for better. The uneducated masses will decrease year on year, decade on decade- this is what development is.To be fair to Sonia Gandhi, she did help bring in the "right to education" law which in turn will bring about the aforementioned changes.

All parties are trying to take credit for that law this is the problem with democracy in India at least in USA the democrats and republicans work together in important issues even though they may differ on many others.

While Congress is saying that its government at the centre has passed the RTE Act, the BSP argues that it was dalit icon Babsaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar who incorporated right to education in the Constitution of India, the BJP points out that Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government had in 2002 made free and compulsory education a fundamental right in the Constitution for all children upto the age of 14 years. Ironically, none of them have talked about the fact that November 11, which is celebrated as National Education Day, is actually held to mark the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India's first education minister, who laid the foundation of modern education in free India.

Please, the US is just as bad if not worse than India wrt political discourse. The Democrats and Republicans are divided on almost every issue and what's worse is that in many places what party you support divides the soceiety. In India whether you vote one way or another- no one cares.

+who cares who takes credit for the bill? As long as it is now in place.

.
The trouble is there aren't many serious alternates to congress in several states and in this era of coalition politics, Congress has been able to keep its alliance intact. Till Vajpayee sahab was active, there was a serious hope for BJP and now its anybody's guess. The fact of the matter remains no single party would ever get majority and Congress being Tikadambaaz as they are will form another ineffective alliance.

Rahul doesn't seem to be all that interested in producing a child

Would you not rather we have just one leader to rule us like a strong man such as Putin? how much money do we waste holding elections every time? now Congress will start giving subsidies to the masses just before the election to get the votes, I will not be surprised at all if Congress is still in power in a coalition.

As much as I want, it will be hard for Modi to come to power in 2014 what other option we have?

I see what you are saying but an absolute ruler opens the door for all sorts of wrong doings and as they say- absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Democracy is imperfect but it is the best option the world has for now.

You Cry as much as you can but you couldn't stop her party from Victory in 2004 & 2009...............Their Party has base & Followers from Kerala to Kashmir..................which no other National party can own

that's the reason I sometimes feel that may be justice katju is indeed right :D

Sonia Gandhi and Congress Secret Billions Exposed

A stunning exposure on Sonia Gandhi’s secret billions in Swiss banks came, surprisingly, from Switzerland itself, where the world’s corrupt stash away their booty. In its issue of November 19, 1991, Schweizer Illustrierte, the most popular magazine of Switzerland, did an exposé of over a dozen politicians of the third world, including Rajiv Gandhi, who had stashed away their bribe monies in Swiss banks. Schweizer Illustrierte, not a rag, sells some 2,15,000 copies and has a readership of 9,17,000 — almost a sixth of Swiss adult population. Citing the newly opened KGB records, the magazine reported ‘that Sonia Gandhi the widow of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was controlling secret account with 2.5 billion Swiss Francs (equal to $2.2 billion) in her minor son’s name’. The $2.2 billion account must have existed from before June 1988 when Rahul Gandhi attained majority. The loot in today’s rupee value equals almost Rs 10,000 crore. Swiss banks invest and multiply the clients’ monies, not keep them buried. Had it been invested in safe long-term securities, the $.2.2 billion bribe would have multiplied to $9.41 billion (Rs 42,345 crore) by 2009. If it had been put in US stocks, it would have swelled to $12.97 billion (Rs 58,365 crore). If, as most likely, it were invested in long-term bonds and stocks as 50:50, it would have grown to $11.19 billion (Rs 50,355 crore). Before the global financial meltdown in 2008, the $2.2 billion bribes in stocks would have peaked at $18.66 billion (Rs 83,900 crore). By any calculation the present size of the $2.2 billion secret funds of the family in Swiss banks seems huge — anywhere between Rs 43,000 plus to some Rs 84,000 crore!

SONIA BHAGAO - INDIA BACHAO

This stuff is boring. $2.2 billion in 1991? Do the chaps coming up with this trash even have the slightest inkling of what the Indian economy was like in 1991? Where on earth would they have found $2.2 billion? The whole Bofors controversy which was huge then was for an amount of 64 crores. $2.2 billion indeed :hitwall:

.
L O L 2.2 billion is chump change our local councilors steal more then that plus zaradari probably owns the bank where Sonia is depositing her money you guys are complaining about couple of billions.

Please don't underestimate our politicians, maybe ours are allowing Zardari to think he owns the bank to evade paying the tax.

we r talking about period before 1988 as the article says that Rahul Gandhi was a minor that time:)
if invested properly it would be anywhere around $12-18 billion dollar today:woot:

n all this is just Rajiv Gandhi era money, u can't even imagine the kind of loot these scumbags r doing today...:hitwall:

You Cry as much as you can but you couldn't stop her party from Victory in 2004 & 2009...............Their Party has base & Followers from Kerala to Kashmir..................which no other National party can own...................So better Try to increase your parties base all over India.................... cheap Propaganda will never lead to Victory.............Advani and BJP were very furious in there election campaign in 2009 even called PM a Hijra & tried to cash from Mumbai Terror attacks...........Rest was history

Its seems you are the only one crying here buddy. We are all venting at the corruption involved. Is she better than Nitin? No way both suck and both deserved to be kicked out of India. Now ask yourself, is it right for India to have dynasty politics since we attained Independence? No, there is no bloody way you nor I can justify it. Democracy in India is a farce. If it was real, you would never have Nehru- Indira-Rajiv-Sanjay-Sonia-Rahul-Priyanka in gov't.

You boast of COngress's win in politics and power this decade....well think about it. Its has more to do with the fact that MMS is leading us. Remember that. Ill stake my life on it.

The point is India needs good leaders and good parties not what we have at the present. But suck and we are blindly following the West in terms of Democracy whereas we need to fine tune it so that it fits India for Indians. It's not perfect but given a chance we can make India better. Unfornately, our govt is the biggest stumbing block. Its is mismanaged, corrupt and inefficient. Take corrective measures. Look at how they handled the rape in Delhi? Groups have been pushing for stricter laws since the 70's. Look at the sex trafficking of our women to Libya and the Middle East? Our govt does not care. It makes my blood boil to think of the defenceless young children who never get a chance to see their parents and families again. Sure, some my blame the families themselves but that is BS. Question why aren;t they given the right resources, justice, or a chance in the first place?

We don;t need foreigners to rule India. We can and have done it ourselves for centuries. Stop being mesmerized by "white" skin. We need leaders like Sardar Patel, Netaji Bose, Shivaji, and such. Expand your mind bro and question what is in front of you. Im a minority but I would vote for Nitish, Modi, Amartya Sen, AK Anthony, NSA Shiv Menon, etc. These are capable ppl who have shown they are capable and understand what needs to be done.

Its actually not much when you consider how powerful they are? They can get kickback in almost anything. Bofors was something the media and opposition caught wind of. Just imagine how much they didn;t know of? Their party has been active in politics for a goddamn 50+ yrs. Its quite easy to position yourself

Oh please haven't you seen any of the recent news on gang rapes & all that stuff ! This country isn't really developing, its getting rich that's all ! I know lots of these young folks who like to flaunt their money, drink/smoke till they pass out & what not ! Our country is believe it or not in a state of chaos, the top is gone & there is no leader with a moral authority nor the will/power to take the bull by its horns & change this dilapidating condition we're in ! Unless we accept the fact that there really is a problem & not live in denial we'll only go further down this gutter :hitwall:
