Sonam Wangchuk's reaction on the ban of chinese apps

.
Only short-sighted nutcases think India did right by banning some apps.China was barely profiting from those apps in India. Security concerns are a joke in this case.Even US can't ban tiktok provided the lack of actual evidence to prove actual security concerns, not saying US wouldn't do so in the future.
China don't depend on revenue from Indian market;but "Made in India" effort, improvement of living standard of civilians(telecom, infrastructure, power production, investment, large scale project loans)and Indian industries depends a lot on China .

The repercussions will be long and painstaking for India and Indian corps not just in India but those seeking foreign market share.
And not only did India just potentially warded off Chinese investment, but it has also proved itself as an unreliable & unstable venue for investment and business( even more than before) in front of the whole world.
It's just a short sighted, stupid spiteful move ,that harms India in long-term prospects.

Just take tiktok for example, the prime target for this ban,India may be it's biggest userbase but contributes barely even 1% in revenue.
Please can you share the data related to that? Has Tiktok released its shares in various countries?

Plently,how much should I conjure?

That's Interesting. Top 10 countries includes India, USA, Turkey, Russia, Mexico, Pakistan, Brazil, Saudi, Germany, France
India makes approx 50% of user base, USA make approx 35% of revenue with 40m+ subscribers. Based on numbers your post does not make any sense. Do you have any thing to prove it?

Bytedance only mentioned China accounts for 69% of revenue,US 20%,followed by UK at just 2 %,the rest are ww combined. So India would barely account for 1% .

Please take that with a pinch of salt. Country with less than 1% subscribers has 69% of revenue. Looks like all Chinese subscribers are donating their pay checks to Titok .

PS: USA defense services has blocked Tiktok for long ago

The article is a bit ambiguous in its wordings for me. It says that most of the revenue for Tiktok came from advertising and in-app purchases but then says that China spent $122.9 million on Tiktok which is 69% of total revenue of 2019. What does the article mean by spent? Is it in-app purchases? Or advertising? The wordings are a bit confusing.

Also, if it's it the 2nd most downloaded app on Playstore, shouldn't people from other countries be downloading it and thus the share of other countries increasing? Things are just not tying up.

7 Billion in revenue ..122.9M = 69% of 7 Billion.
That's possible only by Chinese Cheerleader's Math.

no offence to normal Chinese, I've met some brilliant minds but penny hording cheer squad on PDF lot is from Mars.

CHINA>US>East Asia>Europe >>> rest, that's always been the pattern for revenue distribution for apps etc in a general sense.

Nothing surprising in case of TIKTOK. India isn't just as profitable as you'd think.
