What's new

Some new car Listed in china recently

LEASE means that you will give it back after 3 years?
Yes as we know,it isn't an investment to buy a car. It's consumption.
If you have 300k dollars,$65k car is just a little thing.300k dollars is a lot of money in china because of exchange rate, but I think it isn't a big problem to an America family.

Well the average new purchased car price is $31,252 ( Report: Average price of new car hits record in August ) and most families own two cars. I'd say most families have at least $47K worth of cars in their driveways (~$22K car + ~$25K car). So could they combine it, pay a little more, and buy a $65K Mercedes..sure I guess...most wouldn't. I think $50K would be the limit for the typical family to not stress themselves.

It's certainly not ridiculously priced compared to some other cars.
The problem is reliability. The C series was pretty notorious for electrical problems. Not sure if they have fixed it.
Many do not consider them "real" Mercedes (ie high quality machines...although Mercedes seems to be coming out with a new C model this year that they claim is a "real" one)

The lower end BMW's don't seem to have as bad a reputation...but still not excellent. Again anything under a "5" is not considered a "real" BMW.

BMW North America

But instead of buying a low end BMW/Mercedes people usually buy a minivan or SUV.
This is more popular for instance

I can't find a good page that lists all the Mercedes prices...will look harder later when i have time. The best page I can find is for 2014 New Mercedes-Benz Cars - Find 2015 2016 Mercedes Car Prices & Reviews - Motor Trend Magazine

CLA: $29,900
C-class : $35,800
B: $40,000
SLK: $43,000
E: $51,000
CLS: $65,900
SL: $84,000
S: $92,000
CL: $116,000
The new C class looks so nice, the exteria just the same as the S class.

Got it,man. The cars are not the main expenses to an America family.People need a car of stable quality instead of a famous brand car.

Do you need speed and cost down?

How about BYD QIN and TANG?

:D

I don't know about Chinese cars as they are not imported here. But I think Chinese car companies need to increase horsepower. Americans and Canadians love hp in their car. The more the better.

For me I need reliability my main concern. CVT tranny is not reliable. Give me a 6 spd manual or automatic.
