Some myths and legends about Shia people which are not true
The shia sunni differences were always there since Karbala and I don’t think they are going to solve ever. We can see the misconceptions on both sides but shia people are mostly the target of a lot of rumors.
When I was in class 3 I heard something from somewhere and said to a class fellow shia girl “Shia loog na biryani ki daig banatay hain aur sunniyon ke bachon ka sar kaat k os mein se khoon daig mein daltay hain aur phir wohi biryani hamare ghar bhejtay hain”. She told this to her mother was the Vice Principal of our school and I was made to stand in the ground for whole day with my hands up in the air.
This was just an example how rumors have been affecting the mindset of people from other sects.
Shias are peaceful people I have witnessed the Abbas Town Blast of Karachi 2013 myself as I was standing at Abul Hasan Isphani Road that moment and what I saw was that they were trying to minimize casualties and save as many people as they could
Anyway coming toward our main focus are I have to talk about some rumors we have been hearing about our Ahl-e-Tashee brothers and how wrong they are.
1 – SPITTING IN FOOD AND WATER BEFORE SERVING US
This is the most basic type of misconception a great number of people have about them. Greater problem is that people actually believe this thing. Even I used to believe on that but later on Syed Sibte Hasan Qaim Naqvi became my best friend in ACCA and I ate so much food at his home that nothing really matters now. Think logically. He is taking food from the same dish you are. Why would they spit on it? Not even some junglee people will do that.

2 – 40 PAARAHS OUT OF WHICH A GOAT ATE 10
This is another legend which says that
Shias believe that originally there were 40 paarahs but 10 were eaten by a goat. Okay this is complete bullshit. A few concepts and principles are different but the ideology is same. Allah is same, Quran is same, Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is the same one.

3 – SHAMA GUL
Okay this one is seriously taboo and wrong at so so so many levels. Some seriously disturbed people say that in some sort of mehfil people are allowed to do whatever they want with any girl or guy they want in the darkness. If a child is born due to the activities of this mehfil he/she will become a cleric. Now I don’t have any words to explain if you have any such ideas in your mind.
,I once tried to sneak into a Sham-e-Ghareban mehfil when I was like 15 years old to find out something like that but i was slapped around 30-40 times by some mustanday. It was obvious for them to find out that I am not one of them. I was wearing a yellow tee shirt.
Anyway if any of you have any such doubt you may visit a nearby Imam Bargah (Not wearing a yellow tee shirt), clearly tell them that you are a sunni and wanna attend the Sham e Gareeba. Nobody will stop you and you will be allowed to sit there till everybody leaves. You will get your assurance that no sex orgy is organized there.

EPILOGUE:
A number of my friends and a lot of my students are shia. I have never seen them in any such activities mentioned above. We have some basic differences we already know about. They are not so material that we cannot live with each other in harmony.
P.S. Shia girls are really beautiful. I always wanted a girlfriend from them. But I never dared to try because why should I try on 10 when I am already rejected by fives and sixes.
