Some in Pakistan Threatened by Turkish TV Invasion

I haven't been able to watch a single football match since the day my Mom & Sisters started watching those damn Turkish Dramas !

And I was someone who didn't miss a single match of Liverpool F.C for one season straight before this Turkish Invasion ! :cray:

Damn you @T-123456 @Neptune @Sinan @xenon54 - I thought football was supposed to be a sacred thing between Brothers & yet you've corrupted our women with these addictive Soap Operas !

I don't know about the soap operas but anything is preferable to football :D

Most people like Turkish entertainment on t.v thus the popularity and ratings. It is only our pathetic t.v "industry" which never really produced anything worth watching that has been complaining about Turkish entertainment.

Most of the script of Pakistan's soaps seems to be poorly written by very uneducated people, who attempt to sound "deep" but come off as mimicking monkeys who can only be bizarre caricatures of what they are trying to portray.

Turkish soaps, no matter what the subject is, seem to be well written by educated people, who know what they are trying to do. The story and message is often subtle, and is more than. Meet the eyes. Ins-pite of cultural differences, Turkish soaps, seem more relatable than our own Pakistani soaps.

To be honest, we did not even have entertainment before the Turkish soaps. T.V, news channels and talk shows enjoyed higher rating than any so called Pakistan entertainment on t.v. Imagine how boring Pakisan soaps would be that people enjoy watching news over such entertainment...

The producers of boring industry of Pakistan are running to the politicians to lobby against Turkish entertainment.

I agree with that mostly and its very sad considering we really used to have great tv serials until a few years back obviously there was only PTV and no private channels then but the standard was much much higher and the dramas were written by educated and well versed people unlike nowadays. Now i personally feel there is a rat race going on between all private channels so the quality has surely suffered a lot. I still watch those old dramas they are really timeless unlike what we see nowadays on our tv screens.

For all those who are dragging religious mumbo jumbo in this thread.

Pl quit.

There is an economic side to this debate.

Pakistani drama producers rake in millions. It is a huge business.

Turkish drama re-runs have no market to talk about. So Pakistanis can get these for next to nothing.

You guys must study which TV channel is Pakistan started this trend. Which series was shown first. ETc.

and you will understand.

Urdu 1 was the first Pakistani t.v channel to air foreign soaps. The soaps it aired, were Turkish, American, Spanish, , Indian, and of course Pakistani.

Most soaps got filtered out, the Americans and Spanish were the first to go out. The Turkish soaps dominated. Pakistani soaps still air now, and I see, Pakistani soaps desperately trying to improve their quality to compete with Turks, and they are doing so, by changing their strategy. E.g, changing their genre , making comedy Pakistani dramas, instead of more serious ones. No matter how popular Turkish soaps get, there always a market for Pakistani comedy content. Some Indian soap, still air, but they are not popular, and are showing the same symptoms of fading out, like the Spanish and American soaps from channels.

Is this working ? this is nice film. You should at least watch the trailer.

We have Turkish movie of the month, on one of our t.v channels. This movie has not been aired yet, but I have seen clips of it being played in The trailer of Turkish movie of the month, so I am guessing this movie would get dubbed and be aired eventually.

Nope...it has not been aired in Pakistan !

I saw some of it - the Sultan looks like such a weakling compared with the Sultan from Muhtesim Yuzeil ! :undecided:

I never understand the hypocrisy !!!

I say , make more entertainment for people , and less "TALK SHOW that make politicians into Heros"

I mean literally these talk show people are paid by politicians to keep their name relevant in society otherwise who would know their names?

PTV (the once institute that created shows) and hired actors is gone

So the whole industry needs a shock !!!

And I say ... great to see new shows on TV

If some folks don't like it , just turn it off and do a head stand on a couch or something no one is forcing you to watch it

We need to go back to Pakistan of 60's
