Standard protocol mandating all bar conversations apply;
No topics pertaining to religion,politics,cricket or the military. The probability of running into opposition or offending someone with your take on things is relatively high. Plus, everybody considers himself/herself as an expert on such matters and hence are more likely to raise questions.
I would rather delve into topics like social justice,popular culture,animal welfare etc. if I were you. Since they're bland in their nature,you would need some individual flair to make them appealing.
Pay the utmost heed to grammar,punctuation and syntax. These are more important than the content itself. No popular abbreviations or slang and certainly no Hinglish either. Proofread your submission, ideally after a day has passed.
