Some former PMs compromised 'deep assets', defence minister Manohar Parrikar alleges

Another thing that surprises me is how kids today refuse to read a book (which has more credibility) rather they just go online and look up some random website .

Well general trend to to look for easy way out than sweat out and work hard .

who will take pains to read books when things are ready at the click of finger tips ...but the flip side is that internet is filled with all sorts of unregulated content .

and sir , you must be knowing what is searched most frequently on Net :D ??

who has got time to read ?

Actually book sales have increased. This is a common misconception. New writers have also swamped the market. Crosswords breaks its records every year and so does Amazon Kindle. This generation reads more than the previous one. May be per capita not as much, but volumes have increased. And there are very strong opinionated websites that thrive. Case in point - Kafila. For obvious reasons, I find it worse than trash, when it comes to their ideas - but they do write well. :P
Fiction sales have increased . not non fiction .

.
They were having a similar debate, that Nawaz Sharif has compromised deep assets. We are left with pigeons and t-shirts now.

Sir , parents especially fathers are last to know that their children have grown up already :D

Fiction sales have increased . not non fiction .

those are just absolute numbers ...

what is the world population today ..and what was the world population a decade and 2 decades back ?

what was the literacy today and what was the literacy 1 or 2 decades back ?

so these numbers do not tell the true story ... It is true that reading culture is on vain today ...

and as you said Fiction , novels are being read now a days .

reading Sydney Sheldon or books like 50 shades of Grey ..is what reading book is considered today .

Even that is dipping now ...when you have so much of audio-visual stuff with so much variety ...who will read Sydney Sheldon ???

I don't think he talks about MMS, since the timeframe is clearly aimed on a far earlier stage. He is making a lot of polictical statements recently, which is not really helping. More interesting than political blame games are what changes he has in mind for DRDO or the DPP.

I dont think the time frame gives you a clear idea, because it says the assets are established over 20-30 years, but some PM compromised it...... when was this compromised is not specifically mentioned. More over entire world knows about the goof up of IKG and morarji, and his comment doesn't make any sense of any relevance today.... Knowing Indian politics i get a feel he is hinting at MMS, and look at congress reaction to this statement which kind of confirms it.....

My dear friend this was all about politics.

I know, but this guy was trying to bring in a PM who is highly regarded (even by the party he supports)

Shucks! Can't believe Vajpayeejee was such a person! Parikkar must have got it wrong!

Itnii trolling Naa kar upar jake Malik koh bhi nawab dena hai

Add I K Gujral to that list. Consequences of Gujral doctrine is even felt today by India's intelligence agencies. In his quest for peaceful relations with neighbors he ordered the Pakistan special operations desk of R&AW to be shut down, leading to a major gap in India’s intelligence capabilities. People believe that this was one of the key factors that led to the intelligence failure before the Kargil war.

Idiot Pacifist like him shouldn't be given the job of managing national security

Some of you guys dont have a clear grasp on India's history. The PMs don't stop with Rao. IK Gujriwal and Moraji are two clear example of compromisinig our assets. Like I said, Indians used to vote for bunch of idiots. Time to wake and show the world we are not some bananaa republic. Make Congress pay by destroying it. Look at AAP. I used to think these were the good guys, but when you see Anna distancing himself from Kerijwal, you know something is amiss. Look at how Congress works with them. Why the f-k would AAP, whose stance and fame revolves around corruption, work hand in hand with CON-gress? Some things simply do not add up. SO fuk off...

Another point I wanted to bring up. If there is a need to refuse bring up the files on Netaji for national security, then that means the story of Netaji dying in the plane crash is NOT TRUE. It may compromise relations with a country we have defence alliances with (Russia- but it wont harm relations...Indians are to pacificist and leave it to Karma). I am wondering if both parties have things to worry about? Mmmmm

Well According to many, Nawaz Shariff is the biggest asset for us.........and he is doing a pretty good job by the way....

. .
Hmmmm Rajiv Gandhi will top the list of those PMs and then Narsimha Rao may be......
MMS would be towards the fag end of that list. JMHO!
Lol
But then as they say "samajh daar ke liye ishaara kafi hai".
Congress asking for an apology almost proves that they got the hint.

Rajiv Gandhi???? Haven't heard much of it, Did i miss something?...... According to few pakistani statements RG was planning to attack Pakistan..... If he really had any such plans he would not be in the list.....

Not only that he also exposed those assets in Pakistan.....I think it took a long time to rebuild the capacity....
