I wonder how countries would counter the SOM, I think radar guided AAA, combined with Tor missiles would be great for protecting assets against most any type of cruise missile.

Also, in the future GPS jamming near strategic targets will severely disable the ability for cruise missiles to accurately strike targets and will have to rely on INS systems.

SOM strikes targets by using many different positioning technics so jamming the GpS won’t make much differences. Terrain referenced and image referenced naviation systems allow SOM to navigate over the flight paths that is installed on its computers via satellite images. The seeker recognize the terrain profile to position itself where It must be. Although enemy cut the Kement datalink between missile and operator, The missile will proceed its waypoints by using uploaded image and terrain references. The rivers, roads, mountains will be a reference for digital mapping software of SOM guidance. SOM guidance computer will match the uploaded digital images with real terrain profiles to find its position. Once this missile launched, You will have to either destroy it for your survival, or neutralized by platform that was launched from. Otherwise, SOM will certainly find you.
