Einstein allegedly made this riddle for his scholars.

A fellow encountered a bear in a wasteland. There was nobody else there. Both were frightened and ran away. Fellow to the north, bear to the west. Suddenly the fellow stopped, aimed his gun to the south and shot the bear. What color was the bear?

If you don't know, this may help you: if the bear ran about 3.14 times faster than the fellow (still westwards), the fellow could have shot straight in front of him, however for the booty he would have to go to the south.

Here is something to keep you awake,
Three friends living together in a flat need to buy a TV, times are hard so they go to a second hand shop and see one in the window, they ask the salesman for the price, he informs them that the TV is $45.00.
They all dish out $15.00 each and take the set. Some times later the shop owner returns and inquires about the TV from his salesman, who replies that he sold it to the three boys living upstairs for $45.00.
The owner comments that since the boys are neighbors, he should give them a discount and instructs the salesman to return $5.00 to them.
The cunning salesman thinks, how would he divide $5.00 between the three boys, hence he leaves with five single Dollar bills, returns one Dollar each to them and pockets the other two. At the end of the day, the TV costs the three boys $14.00 each which amounts to $42.00 in total and the salesman kept the $2.00 himself thus a grand total of $44.00. What happened to the other Dollar.
Here it is in diagram.

Friend A.......... Friend B.......... Friend C
$15.00 ....... $15.00 ...... $15.00 = $45.00
Returned. $1.00 $1.00 $1.00 3.00-
-------
$42.00
Salesman keeps $ 2.00+
--------
$44.00
Grand total should come to $45.00.

This one is very old riddle. It basically confuses people by mixing debit and credit.

Here is how you do the calculation.

Debit
14*3 per person = 42$
Credit
40 with shopkeeper and 2 with servant = 42$
hence debit = credit.

The 2 dollar which should be in credit is moved to debit to confuse people.

That is just on the surface, but what is the theory to calculation.

As I told you debit and credit should not be mixed in calculation.
3 friends gave 42$ 40 went to owner and 2 to salesmen.

When they spent only 42$ why u r trying to get a expense of 45 is it just because initially it was 45. This is what you have to understand.
