The road to get where we are now has been a long and rough one. But even after so many years, we have various problems that still plague our country; poverty, political instability and corruption, illiteracy, etc. There is a lot of room to improve further, that's where we come in.

In this thread, please post solutions that you would recommend for Bangladesh to improve its position in both the above mentioned problems and every other problem the nation faces today. What do you think needs to be changed, who needs to be removed or added or put in charge? What should we do to deal with our issue with the power and water crisis?

BTW, I thought of doing this after reading through a thread started by our friend saad445566, so credit goes to him. Link to his thread posted below.

get the border fenced.

Good relations with India will help a lot economically and diplomatically.

Build up a great industry specially in what you excel. Jute, seafood and textile should be prioritized since its already a big export for you. Import the less important things from India and concentrate more on important exports, so that you don't waste time on little things and earn more profit from expensive exports.

Establish joint ventures with India and China.

Soon all problems will be gone. The only problem of BD is economy oriented. If economy is good everything will fall into place.

Good Luck.

well i have an idea for both India and pakistan...

it is well known fact that pakistan needs energy for its future development and definitely nuclear energy would be best...... but i dont think permission will be granted to pakistan to build further nuclear reactors with unlimited fuel to import....
and it is also a fact that this permission is granted to india by IAEA...
so if India and pakistan have a treaty to build a joint nuclear reactor on borders so that the reactor is built on indian soil... fuel will also be indian and power generated can be sold to pakistan ...

i think this can bring peace to both countries... and lot of matter may be solved...
and also main thing will be there will be zero probability of war in future...

what do you say guys??

it will never happen yaar. they will always have a fear that we'll cut of their supply if tensions go high and yes India would definitely cut off their supply in case of a war.

it can happen with bangladesh though.

Indians has turned this thread into what indians wants Bangladesh to be. What can Bangladeshis say in crowrd of more than billion indian wishes? Well thats the challenge but coming out of is the key to solving many problems in Bangladesh. But unless "deuice" generation of Bangladesh can not think beyond hindi movie/settalite tv culture and not duped by cheap "digital deception", status quo in poverty and rest of our problem will continue.

But core of our solution is stand by Bangladeshi (NOT "bengali") identity and build upon the values of that identity.

@ akash57

Well done Akash for opening this thread. As I said before, most of us ( including me also) like to criticize instead of thinking for solutions for the problems of BD.

BTW, I think BD generation needs to be more wise about any propaganda going around. All I know that we should not cling to the past like AL or we should not deceived by any others in name of freedom or development. We should not adopt too much non-muslim cultures or also we should not be extremist or very conservative. We should fixed our goal after 10 or 20 years when BD will face food crisis. We need change, we need power, we need development, we need good ideology, we need to select our future friend country by now. We should not run by other's wish but our own. We should not dominated by our neighbors. We should live like Tiger if we have good blood.

From my interactions with people here, they are very similar to Pakistan's own solutions.

Get yourself educated and don't resort to corruption.

Don't give bribes, don't take any. Even if it means not getting the job done. I go to Pakistan and pick 10 fights in every governmental departments. Concept of corruption is ridiculous to me, as I've grown up in a corruption free environment. The concept of paying a police officer any amount of money is unheard of. The problem is that corruption at small levels is seen as something that is OKAY.

Be tolerant of each other, don't impose your will on the other, or else somebody will be there to impose their will on you too one day.

Sure you can live like a tiger. What most people call dominance here is actually mutual development.

If we offer to build factories in BD, it is not our dominance, it is for mutual benefit of India as well as BD. Some BD members believe that instead of letting India step into BD, BD should itself manufacture everything. But that can not work at this point in time when BD is a developing country. India has allowed Korean companies to invest in India. That has helped our economy big time. Same would be for BD.

Bangladesh is not a big country that can afford to step into everything. So it must choose what it needs to get into, what industry to start in order to sustain the development as well as increase profitability.

For eg: BD uses 75% of its agricultural land for rice. It has so much rice that it exports majority of it. But tell me, is there any profit in rice?? Rice is so cheap and can be grown easily anywhere. Instead of growing so much of rice some of the land could be used for something that sells at a premium, like flowers, fruits, aloe-vera, oil producing seeds etc.

Instead of exporting jute, why not co-operate with an Indian company to make finished goods from jute and sell them in the international market. It may benefit India but it will benefit BD a lot more.

If BD thinks that it should develop on its own and not allow India to help then that would curb the growth of both the countries.
If we join hands, both the countries would progress better. And yes, India can never dominate a country as big as Bangladesh. Nepal and Bhutan have been our premier allies and we haven't dominated them, why would we dominate BD. Its just in the brain. And it needs to get out.

Yes, as posted by other members, I too believe that we should continue to open our doors to India as we currently are while keeping our own interests in mind and in a bit of a higher priority. India is very important to us, there is no denying that as we are located right beside her heart geographically speaking. Strengthening our relations with Pakistan should also be a high priority as they are a well developed country in our region of the world with whom strengthening our ties with would greatly benefit our country. This can be achieved through trade and other joint ventures with mutual benefits. China has proved to be our friend many times, we should maintain our great relations with them also. But of all, I would stress improving relations with Pakistan because of the huge gap between us that we don't share with many other countries in the region. Link relating to this issue below

http://www.defence.pk/forums/curren...70682-indian-tv-channels-banned-pakistan.html

These stupid Star plus, zee tv and NDTV are really damaging our family fabric. with women having nothing to do glued to these sick family feud serials all day. good move.

even they should be banned in India

Tiger Awan.. believe me we are badly affected by these serials...

I am so happy ever since this occurred, my aunts and mother just watch one serial on Star but that alone irritates me a lot as its aftar time and I have to watch it too.

Now its gone, things are better. Plus we have far too many Pak channels too so it does not make a big difference.

Well done PK.

BD should do something. We should ban few channels, at least, like Indian drama and music channels. Problem is very serious now. My little sis of class 5, many of her little class mates, and mom watch almost every Indian serial. But I can not say them that do not watch these craps that will make you retarded because they are already obsessed with those and unable to perceive that how these are making them idiots. You can tell that other western culture and channels can ruin your society but I will say those are not as closely related to our culture and can not give that much strong wrong impression as like those crap-dramas.

Now those crap-drama-audiences have confined their intelligence in those channels; especially, the little kids like my cousins even they are good students but their idea and base from those dramas have become the basis of their choice, discussion, ideology and argument. Surely, they will loose our own thinking power and one day BD will become retarded. How can they act intelligently if they are exposed to those crap-Drams everyday?

If you do not agree with me then do some case study. These dramas are causing psychosocial harms and these are hazardous enough to cause family and social problems.

Only one solution to our success and survival of as a proud nation is that we must keep Islam as guiding principal of the state. Bangladesh is surrendered by none-Islamic forces so only strong Islamic soceity(do not mean like Saudi) can encounter these annihilated forces.

I also strongly believe that we must adopt Arabic based script in our Bangla language to differentiate with Bharati Bangla as it was done with Urdu and Hindi.

What ever we achieved so far because we countered and revived from Hindu dominance in 75 otherwise BD would have been a totally slave territory of Bharat.

Currently Al government trying take us back to un-Islamic status. We must create awareness and demise Awami munafiqs ill wish and move ahead in future. Otherwise all of our achievement will go drown the drain.

Well said
I think this is not just a solution for bangladesh but for entire south asia
we should take onus of reducing the corruption and considering it not OKAY. But for small term gains we the young generation ourselves involves in this thing
