Solution to Pakistan’s economic problem?

.
We are not here for earning, we born raised here. Our ancestor settled here when there was only jungle here and karachi limited to sadar.

What we need is basic rights, make karachi separate province just like any other and thing will start to change.

Quota system came in bhutto time just for 1 year and till this date govt jobs reserves for sindhi.

Its all due to illegal things happening karachi more or less like modern version of occupied kashmir.
Karachi is the provincial capital of the Sindh, Karachi wasn’t jungle. Karachi was the National capital and a port city even before your ancestors moved here for economic reasons. You are hating other Pakistanis for exact same reason your ancestors did to Sindhis.

No doubt Sindh govt is corrupt but Looking through Sindhi prospective, you do you expect them to lose their provincial capital to folk that came there to seek refuge and earn living.

Would you expect UAE to handover Dubai to expats because they litterly build it? Unlike Karachi which was already a major city.
Ask for trade and not aid.

Ask China to do more trade with us.
Trade with what? Pakistani people are hooked on govts handouts and IMF loan freebies. Pakistanis needs to learn skills and produce something of value to trade.

an islamic economic system, one based on gold, not the US dollar, and a banking system that does not deal in interest.

Have you lived in karachi? Karachi was limited to sadar only in start.
Karachi was never part of sindh thats why karachities has different domicile and sindhi has different.

One of the biggest issues is the lack of tax revenue compared to western countries. In Greece for example, avoiding paying tax was considered a "national sport"

Corruption is a massive issue as well. A hardline and ruthless anti corruption drive is required imo.

At the end of the day the fact the matter is that, after partition, all of the economic hubs were given to India by the British. As a result, it is extremely difficult and unsustainable for Pakistan to keep up with India in military procurement.

On the other hand, the cost of purchasing weapons can be remedied by investing in domestic capabilities.

Another major disadvantage for Pakistan. Pakistan's capital is right next to India's border. However India's capital and economic hubs are not very close to Pakistan's borders.

Realistically, India and Pakistan are more or less on par in terms of military technology. If anything, India has a slight edge. However India outnumbers Pakistan 7 to 1 in population. India's military also outnumbers Pakistan 3 to 1, which is another major disadvantage in case of a full blown war.

Economically India's GDP is 10 times larger than Pakistan's GDP

In the end wouldn't it be more beneficial for Pakistan to broker some kind of long term peace agreement with India in regards to Kashmir rather than continue to spend a fortune on expensive weapons systems ?

Throughout history the Indian subcontinent was united and honestly economic integration, removing trade barriers between Pakistan and India would be extremely beneficial for both sides. However more so for Pakistan than India.

Hopefully in the future both sides can invest in peace rather than war.

Poverty is everywhere in Pakistan many people can’t afford to feed their families in Pakistan. Poverty also leads to many people becoming drug addicts and heroin in general is widely used in Pakistan by druggies. Additionally there’s tons of agricultural land in Pakistan not being used properly and many farmers aren’t making enough to feed their families.
Three main problems Pakistan faces:
1) lack of jobs
2) drug addiction
3) farmers not making enough

Pakistan’s biggest economic sector is agriculture and, most of the population has access to agriculture land either by renting it or because they own it. In addition, the government has tons of agricultural land not being used at the moment.

A solution to these problems could be Pakistan government issuing licenses to farmers to grow opium poppy. Farmers who have a license can grow opium poppy in specific areas and than sell their yield to the government of Pakistan. The government of Pakistan can sell this opium to big pharmaceutical companies. Currently the demand for medical opium in the world is very high but supply is low and now with recent events in Afghanistan supply will go to all time low. Medical opium is used in many products like pain killers so there’ll always be tons of demand. Additionally, Pakistan is mostly Sunni Muslims who follow the hanafi fiqh. In hanafi fiqh it allows us to sell the raw materials if their used for medical purposes.

Economic benefits:
A hectare of opium usually yields around 50 kilos of opium while wholesale price of opium is around $500 usd. This means per hectare $25,000 usd can be made easily by growing opium. Pakistani government can tax this and be responsible to sell it to foreign pharmaceutical companies so it can also gain much needed foreign reserve. Giving licenses for opium to be grown on 100,000 hectares means Pakistan can easily make $2.5 billion usd per year.

How will it work:
To make it work Pakistan can designate specific areas for growing medical opium. It can gives licenses for allowance to grow opium on upto 10 hectares per person so small level farmers benefit from it not big farmers. The yield will be sold to Pakistani government by farmers who will than sell it to the pharmaceutical companies. Inspectors can frequently patrol these designated areas to make sure farmers follow the rules and don’t break them.

How will it solves the 3 problems:
1) It will create lots of jobs since labourers will be needed to grow the crop.
2) Allowing medical opium to be legally grown by license and controlling its flow means the people who would normally grow it illegally can now grow it legally and make the same profit. They would rather be legal and grow it legally than illegally so criminals won’t be able to buy raw opium from farmers anymore which will lead to supply of illegal heroin to hit rock bottom.
3) Small level farmers who own less than 10 hectares of land can grown opium instead of other crops and make huge profits. Instead of growing crops like wheat and corn which make almost no profit they can grown opium and make huge amount of profit.

Now imagine the areas in Balochistan, Kpk, Sindh and south Punjab with lots of poverty grow this crop legally with a license!

Lastly if anyone messed it above, opium grown medically is allowed to be grown and sold in hanafi fiqh in Islam. The RAW materials that are grown for MEDICAL reasons are allowed and HALAL. Opium grown for heroin has to be REFINED and go through a LONG PROCESS. The RAW plant can’t be used to get high
Keep in mind when the Quran was first written, there was no radio, no television, no newspaper, no internet, no paper. In an ideal world interest would not exist but unfortunately it has to because why would anyone give out a loan without generating some kind of return ?

Without interest, what about loans that are not paid back. In that way interest is mandatory to offset some losses for loans that are not repaid. Extremely high interest rates are banned in most developed countries, however interest rates must exist in one form or another

In regards to gold currency, the reason why paper money was adopted first by China and then the rest of the world is because there simply isn't enough metal to go around, never mind enough gold. Today the best way forward is digital, encrypted currency.

an islamic economic system, one based on gold, not the US dollar, and a banking system that does not deal in interest.

GDP... meaningless mumbo jumbo!
It just moves the misery up the value chain and further embeds it... You don't want that!!!

When you see videos of Pakistan on YouTube with puzzled westerners making sense of the fact that the place where they just ate at or sought to purchase an item handed it over for nothing but a smile! For them(the west) each transaction is financial and coin must change hand as the only means of compensation... A smile is not! In the sole pursuit of GDP and for profit enterprise,
YOU "WILL" LOSE THAT SMILE!!!
Your typical capitalism only sees profit!
Not par/linear and certainly not a loss... everything has a price and that disconnect in comprehension which sees profit/loss or financial terms only... considers this(a trait of humanity) all too cheap! the actual cost though and burn is and will all too great,
A loss for mankind!!

Back to the topic...
An otherwise benign or innocent idea that current major businesses with a story thst started from a garage... utterly a farce!
The ingredients of these existed, all it needed were those who could bring them together.

Products or produce of national consequence are not made in garages but built by nations who identifyit as such... and develop these in a national pursuit.
Why do you think that China created an alternative for every western technology of consequence?
While others just chimed in the existing...
Learn to decouple!
Production is not endless!

Identify global and domestic needs...
Pick up one end and in baby steps grow your piece of the pie!
Surely, Pakistan can identify and invest in infrastructure, requisite venues of learning... etc
But it cannot be the current mode ... what they call "education"... you're setting up for a failure.

Remember bulk for global and make it a cottage industry for local.

Till it changes again!
