An Army soldier lost his life in ceasefire’s violation by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir's Bhimber Gali on Tuesday.

The soldier has been identified as Naik Mahendra Chemjung.

Earlier in the day, security forces foiled an attempt by the Jaish-e-Mohammed to storm a BSFcamp near the high- security Srinagar airport today, killing all three militants in an operation that also claimed the life of an assistant sub-inspector of the force, police said.

State Director General of Police S P Vaid said the three terrorists who had sneaked into the BSF camp had been "neutralised".

"We are carrying out search operations inside the premises to rule out the possibility of planting of explosives," he said.

Officials in the know of developments said there was prior intelligence that a Jaish-e-Mohammed operative identified as 'Noora Trali' had brought in a suicide squad into the city.

Jammu, Oct 3 (PTI) An Army jawan was killed today as Pakistani forces violated the ceasefire by firing from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, an official said.

“Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked firing on Indian Army posts in the Krishna Ghati sector at around 1250 hours today.

Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively,” a defence spokesman said.

In the exchange of fire, Naik Mahendra Chemjung was grievously injured and succumbed to injuries, he added.

Chemjung, 35, belonged to Chilingdin in Nepal and is survived by his wife Nayan Kala Chemjung and a son, the spokesman said.

“Chemjung was a brave and sincere soldier. The nation will always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty,” he added.

Yesterday, two minors were killed and 12 civilians injured in cross-border shelling by Pakistan along the LoC in Poonch district.

Five children were among the injured, the youngest being five-year-old Zobia Kousar, who was airlifted to a hospital in Jammu.

. . . . . . .
Sounds like a Gurkha. Have to give to the Indian establishment. They are using the minorities as the cannon fodder to face Pakistani bullets. You dont see much of Hindu RSS rats die on the border.

These are not even Indian gurkhas. These are Nepali nationals dying in a war that doesn't have anything to do with Nepal.

. . . . .
You idiot, Gorkhas even serve in U.K. So U.K is hiring kiraye ke gundey ?
You even hire rag tag terrorist for fighting in A-stan or Kashmir ? Is your army really incompetent ?
You have third largest population in the world still you need people from Nepal to defend your borders. How honourable is that? UK and France has policy of giving citizenship to the people serve in armed conflict under their banner. That's why people are attracted to join them.
And as for your comment regarding rag tag militia are you sure Taliban are guarding our western borders not Pakistani military? Wow nonsense of Indian members have no limits.
