In Pakistan , we develop softwares as a service mainly for USA based clients. .
Why don't we use.softwares to.automate our businesses ? One store keeper wanted a robust system but wanted to pay pennies for.it. When asked why so little , he said I can buy a cd for 35 rs with so many softwares on it.
Well, that was one example .

With this new govt , do.you think think things may change ?

Well a storekeeper usually needs a simple POS, which he can buy in market for 15 to 25K. You cant expect a shoopkeeper to buy ERP on SaaS model and pay hige amount.

Try to sell me a Ferrari and you're wasting your time because I simply don't have budget for it. Sell me an Alto and I will become your customer.

I have been working with overseas clients and while you must be true in what you're facing, you could possibly be selling it to the wrong person. You cannot expect people to buy a custom software just because clients in the US are buying.

I literally helped a replica watch business become a brand selling watches like hot cake because of my marketing efforts and they were paying mere 5-10k PKR a month. So my advice is don't sell it here.

A guy who believes that in 35 Rs he can buy loads of software, should buy it. Such a person probably does not even appreciate what a business software is all about and is not worth wasting time on.

The thing is that the software world has moved towards SaaS. People are willing to pay a small amount periodically than pay a big lumpsum and regret later. Companies don't want to be tied to a vendor. They like annual contracts, which they can use to beat down the price at the end of the year showing that another vendor is offering 20% cheaper or such.

Another reality is freemium model. Offer something free to demonstrate UI / ease of use / speed and tempt them to buy the paid version. But you have to do it very cleverly.
