This time they are really desperate to keep hold of power. Thankfully their children are useless and they are struggling to win over the public. It's the last attempts of a fading house of Sharif and Zardari. Their time is coming to an end, I just hope there are good leaders waiting to fill the vacuum because we only got 6-7 more years of a IK.

Sad really, such a maverick, he should have become PM 20 years ago and Pakistan would have transformed economically and a more mature balanced society would have formed. The Sharif and Zardari network are a jahil backwater types who use militancy and poverty as a tool to keep people in fear and in line, they have made the people like a dog who has had no love and is ready to bite anyone.

It's a sad demise for a promising civilization, you are on a crossroads now and this decade will make or break you.

IK is just a temporary ripple in this status quo. A one time chance we failed to avail. There is no one after him so far.

You gave a wrong example. Infact your example shows that you think public is dependent on its leaders of the country. Whereas this is not and shouldn’t be the case.

If the public stops supporting corruption, the upper echelon will be rendered helpless. Stop paying a cop money on the roads, stop paying a clerk to get file moving, stop getting after vip status to jump the que, etc.

In case of IK, he was helped by army to come in power. He fell when army backed off. He was that fragile.

Many other countries are overpopulated but you don’t see their society as completely messed up ethically, morally, otherwise. Its only Pakistan that seems to hav the worst safety, lawlessness, disregard for human dignity/honor/privacy, etc, where even small kids r vulnerable and unsafe. Too many predators.

In simple words, the military comes under civil govt, but the military seems to work as a totally independent entity and has more resources to collect data and inform PM about national security and financial setup issues inside the state. If they refuse to work with the elected PM, then no constitutional power can force them to obey elected govt orders..... this if unfortunate dilemma only in Pakistan
