This is by far the worst ( after VHP Togadia & Some Hindu Fundamentalists) display of shameless fundamentalism being displayed.
There is a small difference between Nationalism and Fundamentalism and I think this is the later.

Here is a subtle way of indoctrination not neccessarily voilent but abhorent nonetheless

Shame on these people and the people who get influenced by them.

Though its true that these extremists do no good to a nation. In india these groups find very little audiance, the proof being that VHP/RSS representing Hindu Community which comprises of 80% of population could not get BJP TO POWER:

INDIA VOTES/SUPPORTS DEVELOPMENT AND PROGRESS NOT RELIGION AND EXTREMISM.

But if its 'shameless' and wrong u have to call similar names/adjectives for extremists across the globe which despite of difference of religion speak in similar tones.

'hamam me sab nange hai' ... Thats the real undeniable fact.

Another real undeniable fact is that it took just 1 to kill Mahatma Gandhi. If a couple of people go to Pakistan and blow themselves up then the whole world will see India in the same light that they see Pakistan (maybe a bit better but still very bad). All this can be a catalyst to such events in the future and if possible then has to be stopped.

I really do not understand how this is related to india defence. What amazes me is this thread is started by (probably) an indian. Usually, such threads are started with a particular agenda in mind and when members reply result in unnecessary flame war.

My friend, fundamentalism is itself bad, irrespective of what color it represents, but speaking in terms of india can you deny the fact that india is secular only because majority of indians are hindus. Just think for a moment and tell me if majority of indians were say muslims or christians, do you think india would have remained secular.

Incidentally, the only other secular state in the subcontinent happens to be a hindu majority state. You know which, I guess.

India's secularism is just the natural extension of hinduism's spiritual tolerance and inclusiveness.

Yes, my friend it took just one person to kill mahatma Gandhi, just one person to perforate Ms. Indira Gandhi, and just one person to blow up india's youngest prime minister to pieces, but again it will take just one person's one silly thread to incite a vicious circle of action, reaction and who-did-what kind of cinders flying all around and that my friend, I do not want to believe, is your ultimate motive.

The secular india gives us an enviable opportunity to do things that many others can only dream of doing. Now, it is upto an individual to choose whether he wants to light up a lantern to brighten up his fellow citizens' lives or start a fire that will eventually burn the dreams of yours and mine alike.:smitten:

6.The secular india gives us an enviable opportunity to do things that many others can only dream of doing.

Just a few things I would like to comment on:

1. Yes it is . If you want a detailed explanation then let me know.

2. I dont think so. Had this been the case there wouldnt have been any other secular nation in this world.

3. Cant say about muslims but USA is a secular country and has majority of christains.

4. Seculirarism , Pluralism and Openness are the hallmarks that has made hinduism survive and when a few people MOULD my religion for their petty benefits then it is not something I can reconcile with.

5. I can only do my KARMA and do it with the knowledge that I am on the right path, whatever happens other than that is not in my control, so why worry about it.

6. Thats wrong. Secular India does provide us a lot of freedom to express ourselves but there are many nations in the world who are equally if not more tolerant then us .

Lastly , there is no point in being defensive while discussing those things or trying to brush them under the carpet. I dont care if there is a flame war or whatever. Couldnt care less for an online forum anyhow. However if I find someone share their experiences and thoughts which enriches my knowledge then I would think I gained something substantial.

I posted this thread because I felt that members here should know this side of Secular India also.

@deathgod:

while your point is much acknowledged and appreciated. This is indeed an old thread which has been discussed to death.

As for the topic, every religion has some idiots & brainwashed persons. However there are enough events to suggest Indians in general does not agree and approve them. With the fruit of economic improvement tested, it is now lesser even.

In short, common man are too busy for these "pagalpan".
